Christians and Hare Krishna devotees opened the Trutnov Open Air Music Festival (Czech Woodstock) on August 14, 2014. The Christians did a song and some prayers. Prabhupada’s Guru Das Prabhu spoke and Nrsimha Caitanya Das Prabhu led kirtana. In the end the Krishnas and Christians clapped, smiled, and danced together. The Christian guitar player played along with the kirtana. Harinamananda Prabhu swang the Christians around in the kirtana, and a Krishna devotee girl swang a Christian lady around. The kids that go by the Harinam are very fortunate. Whether they know it or not they are automatically gaining the pious credit needed for understanding Krishna Consciousness by hearing the Maha Mantra and seeing the Sankirtan party. The one’s who come everyday and actively participate are especially blessed by Mahaprabhu’s mercy. The daily Harinam in New York City has been going on for about two and a half years and by Prabhupada’s mercy it will continue. When these kids grow up perhaps they will join us help to increase the performance of the Yuga Dharma. On 10th August Sri Jagannath Mandir Kuala Lumpur celebrated Sri Balaram Purnima in a grand manner .The festival started from mangala arati .The whole atmosphere was filled with joy. Later for deity greeting more congregation members gathered in the temple hall. When the curtain was opened the Lordships gave darshan with new multi-coloured outfits. Darshan arati was followed by Guru Puja. Then the Lordships Sri Sri Krsna Balaram was brought to the abhisheka mandapa and They were bathed with many auspicious items. After abhishekam while the Lordships were being dressed up H.G Simheswara Prabhu , Regional Secretory ISKCON Malaysia, spoke and inspired everyone highlighting the glories of Lord Balarama. Bhaktivedanta Manor’s spectacular Janmashtami festival is expected to attract over 70,000 pilgrims to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna on earth 5000 years ago. The festival will demonstrate the spiritual variety of India’s ancient Vedic culture in all its glory.

On arrival, visitors will walk through the newly completed ‘New Gokul’ complex, Europe’s largest cow protection project, as they make their way to the colourful festival site. At the site, the main marquee will stage cultural dances and musical extravaganzas. Over 50,000 pilgrims will also eagerly queue in anticipation to greet Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda, the temple Deities, in the Manor’s exquisitely decorated shrine. Even the queue itself will be a spiritual experience, as it makes its way along a flowered walk-way around the Manor’s lake, with pilgrims admiring the illuminated displays of Krishna’s pastimes. The Gurukuli children in Nigeria (Nanda Gram) did their painting competition in the Temple last Sunday, 10th August 2014. The competition was part of the Janmasthami celebrations coming up on the 17th of this month. Children painted Krishna; mother Yasoda, Nrishimadeva, Balaram, Devaki and Vasudeva. Winners of the competition will be announced on Janmasthami day and prizes will be given to them. Meanwhile, serious rehearsals and trainings is going on at the temple, ranging from Drama, Music, Bhajans, Gita recitations, Rasa dance, Fancy dress competitions and others to make this year’s Janmasthami a memorable one. The Temple President, His Grace Nataraja Das, has assured Devotees that, he has reached out to the prominent media practitioners both electronic and print media houses to inform and enlighten the public about the event. Situated 14 miles west of Mathura, Govardhan, also known as Giriraj, is the sacred center of Vraja and is identified as a natural form of Krishna. The name ‘Govardhana’ has two primary translations. In the literal meaning, ‘Go’ translates to ‘cows’, and ‘vardhana’ translates to ‘nourishment’. Another meaning of ‘Go’ is ‘the senses’ and another meaning of ”vardhana’ is ‘to increase.’ Thus the name is also translated by devotees of Krishna as ‘that which increases the senses’–in their attraction to Krishna. In this connection it is believed that the personality of Govardhan blesses the devotee by increasing his/her devotion.
