Parvati devi dasi, Samadhi Office: We had such a nice visit from Saurabi, Gunarnava, Acyuta and Hansarupa prabhus, who gave good marks to the structural strength, general appearance, maintenance and cleanliness. Hansarupa prabhu took us to the roof, where he described exactly how the structure is able to accommodate the weight of those beautiful carved marble overhangs. He also made suggestions about dome lighting. On the first floor he revealed that the 33 ornate marble archways all around outside above the altar are meant for pictures (or deities) of the parampara. Danavira Maharaja has a wonderful poster of all of the Parampara, and will send good resolution digitals, so I can produce and frame them with weatherproof technology. Read more ›

Maha Friday Harinama in New York City’s Union Square (Album 30 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

“I do not know how much nectar the two syllables ‘Krish-na’ have produced. When the holy name of Krishna is chanted, it appears to dance within the mouth. We then desire many, many mouths. When that name enters the holes of the ears, we desire many millions of ears. And when the holy name dances in the courtyard of the heart, it conquers the activities of the mind, and therefore all the senses become inert.” Vidagdha Madhava quoted in CC Antya 1.99 Read more ›

Dubbed the “Swastika City” because of the floor plan of the site, it has become a pilgrimage center for many Russian people. Every June, on the day of the summer solstice, a large 2- day festival attracts thousands of spiritually inclined people. ISKCON devotees have been attending the event for years. Their “Krsna Village” with a kirtan stage and many attractive booths is a big attraction. The Carpathian Mountains or Carpathians are a range of mountains forming an arc roughly 1,500 km long across Central and Eastern Europe, making them the second-longest mountain range in Europe. “The holy name of Krishna is transcendentally blissful. It bestows all spiritual benedictions, for it is Krishna Himself, the reservoir of all pleasure. Krishna’s name is complete, and it is the form of all transcendental mellows. It is not a material name under any condition, and it is no less powerful than Krishna Himself. Since Krishna’s name is not contaminated by the material qualities, there is no question of its being involved with maya. Krishna’s name is always liberated and spiritual; it is never conditioned by the laws of material nature. This is because the name of Krishna and Krishna Himself are identical.’ Padma Purana ” Read more ›
