Celebration of the Appearance Day of Gadadhara Pandit in Mayapur (Album 83 HR photos)
→ Dandavats.com

Gadadhara Pandita is an incarnation of Srimati Radharani, the internal potency of Lord Krishna. But because Lord Caitanya is Krishna acting in the mood of Srimati Radharani, Gadadhara Pandita, although Radharani, did not act in the mood of Radharani–because there can be only one Radharani. Gadadhara Pandita understood, “This is Krishna’s time. This is Krishna’s opportunity to relish the loving ecstasy of Srimati Radharani, so I will keep my mood of Radha in the background and just support Him in His experience of Radha-bhava.”

It is also said that if Gadadhara Pandita had manifested the nature or feature of Srimati Radharani, then Krishna, who was trying to absorb Himself in the mood of Radharani, would have become attracted to the Radha outside of Him and wouldn’t have been able to maintain His inner mood as Radha. So Gadadhara Pandita, to facilitate Lord Caitanya in His pastimes, played the perfect role to complement and support the Lord–that of a perfect brahmana, very gentle, very submissive, very scholarly, very sober. Kirtan Mela 2014 Nagara Sankirtana, Tallinn, Estonia (2 min video)
→ Dandavats.com

How does one achieve the highest benefit in all devotional practices by nama-sankirtan? When Krishna sees that someone is helping others by giving them the opportunity to hear the holy name, then Krishna from within and from without lifts the curtain of yogamaya from that person. He thus allows them to see the actual nature of the Deity and to penetrate and realize the deepest imports of the Bhagavata, the path of spontaneous devotion. Read more ›

Massive Kings Day Harinam (Album 74 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

Over 300 devotees from all over the world took part and spread Lord Chaitanya’s mercy to the huge crowds. We began by loading the Festivals, UK van at the Manor in the pouring rain. Sound equipment, large Gaura Nitai Deities and a heavy duty rikshaw that was to be Their chariot. Then eight of us squeezed into the remaining room with our belongings. Then off to Dover to catch the 1AM ferry to Calais in France. We arrived in Amsterdam just in time to bath and start setting up the Deity and sound cart. Kadamba Karana maharaja arrived with 200 devotees from Radhadesh and off we went on probably the most memorable Harinam I’ve ever been part of. I konked out after 4 hours but it went on for another two. Great kirtans and the association of so many wonderful Vaisnava’s. Thank you, Srila Prabhupada. Read more ›

Bhakti-sandarbha (273) we find the following statement:

Even if, in Kali-yuga, there is some other form of devotion ordained as duty, that duty should be performed along with the limb of bhakti known as kirtana.

No kind of bhakti – such as residence in Mathura, association with holy saints, service to sri murti or hearing the message of Srimad-Bhagavatam – is complete without sri Krsna nama-kirtana. Only one who gives importance to sri Krsna nama-kirtana above everything else has access to the fruit it bears. Read more ›

Did Krishna become many? HH Giriraja Swami’s wonderful answer!
→ Dandavats.com

HH Giriraj Swami’s wonderful answer! Lord Krishna and His energies exist eternally, simultaneoulsy, but because Krishna is primary and His energies are subordinate, we say that they come from Him. For example, we say that the sunshine comes from the sun, because the sunshine is secondary to the sun, but as long as the sun has existed, the sunshine has also existed. Read more ›

Boat Festival Insights 2014 at ISKCON-Delhi (Album 14 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

The boat festival marks the symbolic event occurred between Radha and Krishna before 5000 years at Rajghat in River Yamuna. The Gopis often carried the milk products from Vrindavana and sold at Mathura to earn their living. Srinivasa Acharya says, “Krishna started the boat festival from this Raj Ghat with the beautiful Radha and Her associates to cross the River carrying pots of milk products. See the amazingly beautiful face of Krishna. On the riverside remained Krishna on a worn out boat. Radha and Her associates urged to Krishna, “Please take us to the other side of River Yamuna.” Krishna rowed them down to some distance with great pleasure. Let us describe Krishna’s playful pastimes with them.”

When the old boat floated in violent waters, the Gopis said, “You are troubling we young girls. O Madhava, You reap the seed of all troubles and You alone can make us cross this River.” Krishna said, “All food you carry will be drowned. Please throw away all you carry in water including your unwanted clothing.” Even at this dreadful moment, Krishna was cutting jokes at the Gopis and clapped hands showing no worries. The Gopis said, “We desperately throw water from the sinking boat with our bare hands. Even if we escape from here, we will not surrender to You.” Read more ›
