Hare Krishna! Street Chanting is Krishna’s best Propaganda
There is absolutely no greater experience to be had than to be a member of the Harinama Sankirtan party, watching the faces of the members of the public as they smile, laugh, frown or scowl at you while you chant and dance jubilantly to the sweet sound of the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra. This 5 minute ecstatic video was recently filmed on the Appearance Day of His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur. It appears that there was some divine intervention because all of a sudden, as if out of nowhere, 100 youths spontaneously joined the blissful Kirtan party. (watch from 2.30 minutes in)

The Making of the Srila Prabhupada Art Gallery, Malaysia: Behind the Scenes
HG Simheswara Das prabhu, the regional secretary of ISKCON Malaysia and chairman of the temple building project called all the BCC youths for a meeting. Unknown to us, he had already planned to give us a project to glorify Srila Prabhupada. His Grace wanted people to know about Prabhupada’s life and especially on His Divine Grace travels in Malaysia back in May 1971. Simheswara prabhu told us that we have to come up with a proposal to achieve this project. Although we have taken on projects larger than this, none came close to being as artistic as this project. We were taken aback that prabhu had faith on us to achieve this honourable project.

Indradyumna Swami: As we go deeper into the remote areas of Mongolia with our preaching party we are treated to some of the most stunning nature on this planet. In all my travels I have never seen anything like it. And no less beautiful are the people who flock to our programs to hear the message of Bhagavad Gita and chant Hare Krsna. Sometimes I think about staying here for the rest of my life.

Hare Krishna! New Vrindaban Radhastami Celebration Filled With Love
“Everyone was given the chance to offer Her a stick of incense, a ghee lamp, and a flower,” says ISKCON New Vrindaban president Jaya Krsna Das. “They then each wrote a special vow or prayer to Srimati Radharani, which were all collected and offered in a basket at Her lotus feet. Finally everyone got to take a balloon with a heart- shaped label at the end of its string, each marked with a different one of Radharani’s 1008 names, and place it on the altar.” The festival also included ecstatic kirtans led by Shyamala Kishori from North Carolina and Shyamasundar Das from Pittsburgh.

Hare Krishna! Krsna’s calling at New Vraja Dhama, Iskcon Hungary.
Devotees often say that Radhastami is the most important festival at New Vraja Dhama. Although the verdict shall be taken according to one’s individual preference, i humbly agree with the premise, for She is known as Vrindavanesvari and the mood on Her day at New Vraja Dhama is always additionally surcharged by some mysteriously special substance. “She is not a woman”, Jayapataka Maharaja said recently in Mayapur, “She is the pleasure potency of the Lord. If you can please Radharani, and She tells Krsna that there is this devotee who is nice, then He will be very happy to give His mercy”. At New Vraja Dhama, Janmastami could be taken as the central annual event, Govardhan-puja can be described as the most opulent worship, Gaura Purnima can be taken as the most munificent and most merciful day, but in this community Radhastami is surely the most important festival and celebration.

Hare Krishna! Srila Prabhupada’s Treasures in Vrindavan
Daivisakti Devi Dasi: Srila Prabhupada’s Home at the Sri Sri Krishna-Balarama Temple in Vrindavan is the first residence built exclusively for him by his disciples. He stayed in his home whenever he came to Vrindavan from 1972 to 1977. He also chose to enter the divine lila of Sri Sri Krishna-Balarama at his home on November 14, 1977. Since then, his rooms have been converted into an inspiring museum where visitors can appreciate Prabhupada’s presence through his personal belongings, sitting places, library, daily letters, classes and lectures. His private garden is an oasis of peace. His private upstairs rooms offer a glimpse into Prabhupada’s personal life of devotion. Thousands of devotees and pilgrims visit Prabhupada’s House on a weekly basis, and each person receives a handful of prasadam after being blessed with his darshan.

Hare Krishna! Big changes for the New Govardhana community
We dedicate our time and energy to keep New Govardhana beautiful for the Lord and for the many guests who come to connect with Him. A new temple is the physical manifestation of this consciousness – it is a place where God is worshipped and where we are given an opportunity to experience His kindness and mercy. Such a rare opportunity to build a temple for Krishna is not simply a matter of logistics and finances, but is an effort from all the New Govardhana devotees to increase their spiritual connection with Lord Krishna and each other.

Hare Krishna! I wrote this book after many years of answering all kinds of questions on initiation,” Kripamoya explains. “Devotees would ask me questions on shastra and Vaishnava history, on Srila Prabhupada’s statements, and they would often share their concerns about ISKCON’s historical scandals and ongoing reputation. So I took to writing short pieces and sharing them, and readers found them helpful.” He claims that the average spiritual seeker now requires more of ISKCON: “In general, interested people these days have already done their research online. They are fascinated by Krishna, they like the idea of a spiritual teacher, but they have a natural caution and need satisfying answers.”

Dr. Graham M. Schweig on Prabhupada’s Historic Achievements
As we hear from the ancient voice of the Upanishads cry out: tamaso mā jyotir gamaya! “From darkness, lead us to light!” (Bṛhadāranyaka 1.3.28). Swami Prabhupāda has brought more light into this world, a world in which we still find too much darkness. Let us celebrate on this day how Swami Prabhupāda raised greater awareness to the monumental teachings of the Bhagavad Gītā. Let us honor on this day how Swami Prabhupāda selflessly traveled the world to the hearts of so many. Let us recognize the accomplishments of one of India’s greatest exponents of Sanātana Dharma, the eternal teachings of what is good and right in the world that is in harmony with the divine. We owe a great debt to Swami Prabhupāda for raising the consciousness of countless millions to a much greater consciousness, ultimately to Krishna consciousness, and how he has moved the minds and hearts to a greater awareness of all the blessings we have in life and to a greater sensitivity to all living beings everywhere. And finally let me say how I offer my respects to such a man who represents so much the rising of India’s spirit in its exultation of all that is loving in the universe and of all the blessings showered down up us! Thank you, Swami Prabhupāda! Thank you very much. Namaste.“

Hare Krishna! Branding the 50th Anniversary
Mukunda Goswami: The concept of ‘branding’ can be used by putting ISKCON’s 50th Anniversary logo on every ISKCON website, temple notice, temple poster, temple advertising and in many other places. Placing ISKCON’s 50 th Anniversary logo everywhere is important propaganda. The official logo can appear on ISKCON notices, memos, concession cards, vouchers, announcements, statements, letterheads, websites, position papers, news releases, communiqués of all description, bulletin boards, signs, briefings, manuals, fact sheets, handouts, flyers, minutes of meetings, notices, directories, reports – and the list goes on. On occasion, this may cost something, but many applications, like websites, are free.

Preaching in the Legendary City Of Genghis Khan (7 min video)
Indradyumna Swami: Yesterday in our travels here in Mongolia we visited two cities; one of them Chinggis, the legendary birthplace of Genghis Khan, founder of the Mongol Empire. As we entered the city and asked for directions, one of the citizens reminded us of Genghis Khan’s famous statement, “One Mongolian is worth a hundred foreigners.” Despite the warning, we found the people of Chinggis to be as open to Krsna consciousness as anywhere else in the country. Soon after harinama we had a hall full of people listening attentively to the philosophy of Bhagavad Gita and dancing in ecstasy during kirtan. Such is the causeless mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

A Christian meditation: Acknowledge your blessings
I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.
My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, ‘This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.’ I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, ‘This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.’
I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery.
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the Door of a very small station to my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. ‘This is the Acknowledgment Section,’ my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed ‘How is it that there is no work going on here?’ I asked.
‘So sad,’ the angel sighed. ‘After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.’
‘How does one acknowledge the blessings?’ I asked.
‘Simple,’ the angel answered. Just say, ‘O Lord! Let me be grateful to You for all Your blessings upon me.’ (Or chant “Hareee Krishna”!)

Hare Krishna! Do We Complain Too Much?
While performing our services according to ability and inclination, mistakes will be expected. The tendency to highlight those as faults can be habitual, which has the effect of being caught up in a cobweb. If we persist in complaining about faults, thinking we are still advancing in spiritual life, without any ill effects to our health or well-being, will solidify to become steel cables. The fact that the mind is attracted to flying towards the sores of others’ mistakes is evident the Lord is displeased. Such behavior is really a selfish activity. How so? More often than not, if we are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but due to our own estimation of it, and we have the power to revoke it by becoming more Krsna conscious.

FATAL FAT
Chaitanya Charan Das: Obesity and all other indulgence-induced problems originate from the presumption that material enjoyment is the only enjoyment available to us – and so we must have it, whatever the cost. But the Vedic scriptures – and indeed all the great spiritual texts – inform us that this presumption is a misconception. We are intrinsically spiritual beings. Our deepest fulfillment comes from having a satisfying relationship with God. The unlimited inner happiness thereof is our birthright, but being spiritually uninformed, we are searching in vain for that infinite happiness in the realm of finite matter. Most people assume that they can’t enjoy life because they don’t have enough money. But obesity statistics show that, even if they get all the money in the world to eat whatever they like as much as they like, still they will not be able to enjoy unlimitedly because their body limits their capacity to enjoy – inescapably.

Hare Krishna! Before I Die…
Ananda Vrindavanesvari Devi: The Gita teaches that wherever our mind is at the time of death, that will determine our next destination. Better not leave that to chance as our mind is undependable. In a split second it goes off on any emotion, both good and bad. Before we die, therefore, we need to practice what state of mind we want to be in at the time of death. That’s the practice of Bhakti. If our heart is filled with affection for Krishna, then at that critical moment we will call out to Krishna, and place our heart, and therefore our mind there. Love conquers all, especially the mind. If we love Krishna, that is where we will go for shelter. And that is where we will go at the time of, and after, death.

Indradyumna Swami: We’re on the road again, taking the holy names of Krsna to as many towns and villages as we can during our 3,500-kilometer journey through the remote areas of Mongolia. There’s a special satisfaction pioneering Krsna consciousness in a place where people have never seen devotees before, or heard of Lord Caitanya. Yesterday in Darhan people immediately crowded around us as we began Hari Nama, eager to hear our message and buy books. Some of them followed us back to a hall where we had a two-hour program. Step by step we are conquering the hearts of the people of this beautiful country.
