Solar Heating in Mayapur (Album 22 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

Thanks to the solar water heaters, Ishodyan building will now be saving a whooping 450 KW of electricity. That sums up to the amount of power required to run all the water heaters at Mayapur’s guest houses!

The efforts for making Mayapur dham consume lesser energy started three years ago. “Jayapataka Swami was very keen in making Mayapur Eco friendly and sustainable, so from there came the idea of having a solar water system, to,start with” , said Gopijanavallaba Dasa ,the man who laid the foundation for the solar heating project.

Anuttama Dasa emphatically stated that as Krishna’s devotees , ISKCON needs to lead the world in sustainability.”As devotees we love Krishna, so we also love Krishna’s property. Saving energy and being Eco friendly means we are doing Bhakti” , he added. He also reminded the audience that Srila Prabhupada always stressed on the fact that we should never waste Krishna’s energy. The Passing of Abhyarci devi dasi (Album 5 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

Niranjana Swami: Yesterday, March 7, 2014, you left this world surrounded by so many loving devotees, loudly chanting Krsna’s names. As I was standing next to you, chanting and simultaneously hearing the kirtan, chanted so loudly and with such great fervor, I was reflecting on the letter you wrote to me early last year.

Among the many beautiful thoughts you shared with me in that letter, you mentioned a conversation you had with a devoteee in Kolkata, the same day you were diagnosed with cancer. Although this devotee knew nothing yet about the diagnosis (because other than yourself and your husband, nobody else was told what the doctors had said) he asked you the following question:

“Where were you born?”

In your letter, you wrote that you replied, “Oh, it is small place near Herson. No one knows it. I was born there, but it is not important. What is important is where I’ll die, I hope not at the place where I was born. I hope I’ll die in Mayapur.” Read more ›

Even if the residents of Vraja appear to be ordinary, and even if they fill my ears with useless gossip, I pray that I may remain amongst them, eternally residing here in Vraja.” [ Srila Raghunatha dasa Goswami ] Read more ›

A visit in Rajapur Sri Jagannath Mandir (Album 18 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

Five hundred years ago, at the time of Lord Chaitanya, there lived a very wonderful devotee named Jagadish Ganguli. His residence was in a small village near Mayapur. Although he was advanced in age, every year he would go on the 900 kilometer journey to Jagannath Puri on foot to associate with his master Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, take darshan of his beloved Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra Devi, and participate in the all-auspicious Ratha-yatra festival.

One day, less than a month before his scheduled departure for Puri, Jagadish’s plans were foiled. He was stricken with a terrible disease that left him completely blind. Because he was optimistic by nature, this did not dampen his desire to make the yearly padayatra to Puri. He would no longer be able to see the divine, all-merciful forms of Lord Chaitanya and Lord Jagannatha, that was for sure. But still he could relish the sound of sweet kirtana and discourses given by exalted Vaishnavas. Read more ›

Srutakirti prabhu gets huge mercy from Sri Srivas and feels blessed!
→ Dandavats.com

So, on March 3rd about one hour before the Maha abhisekha of the Panca tattva I made my way to the temple and pushed through thousands of devotees making my way to the front where there was a spot for Srila Prabhupada disciples. As time went past I spoke to Nrsingha kavacha who was ‘in charge’ of the Abhisekha and asked him what was the chance of making getting on the altar to bathe the Deities. He said, ‘None!’ We had a conversation for about 10 minutes and despite me using all of my strategies he didn’t budge. I told him that if I got the dhoti from Lord Caitanya or Lord Nityananda I would be somewhat pacified. Read more ›

The tenth anniversary of Sri Panchatattva’s installation in Mayapur Maha-Abhiseka huge ceremony! (Album 138 photos)
→ Dandavats.com

Who are the Pancha-tattva? The Pancha-tattva are a five-fold manifestation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, featured as five tattvas (truths), namely, isha-tattva (the Supreme Lord), His expansion tattva, His incarnation tattva, His energy tattva and His devotee tattva. These five tattvas incarnate with Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and thus the Lord executes His sankirtana movement with great pleasure. In Srimad-Bhagavatam (11.5.32) there is the following statement regarding Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu:-“In the Age of Kali, people who are endowed with sufficient intelligence will worship the Lord, who is accompanied by His associates, by performance of the sankirtana-yajna.” Lord Chaitanya is always accompanied by His plenary expansion Sri Nityananda Prabhu, His incarnation Sri Advaita Prabhu, His internal potency Sri Gadädhara Prabhu and His marginal potency Sriväsa Prabhu. He is in the midst of them as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One should know that Lord Chaitanya is always accompanied by these other tattvas. Therefore our obeisances to Lord Chaitanya are complete when we say:-

sri-krishna-chaitanya, prabhu-nityananda

In the Pancaratra scriptures there is a saying that in the ultimate analysis devotion is the only element which might cause the Lord to appear. Regarding the big Panca-tattva Deities, a whole book has been written on how They were manifested, first in South India, and then installed in Sri Mayapur dhama. Read more ›

→ Dandavats.com

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), established the Governing Body Commission (GBC) to be the ultimate managing authority for the society. In ISKCON’s Direction of Management written on July 28, 1970, Srila Prabhupada states:

As we have increased our volume of activities, now I think a Governing Body Commission (hereinafter referred to as the GBC) should be established. I am getting old, 75 years old, therefore at any time I may be out of the scene, therefore I think it is necessary to give instruction to my disciples how they shall manage the whole institution. They are already managing individual centers represented by one president, one secretary and one treasurer, and in my opinion they are doing nice. But we want still more improvement in the standard of temple management, propaganda for Krishna consciousness, distribution of books and literatures, opening of new centers and educating devotees to the right standard.
