Ratha Yatra marks the journey of Lord Jagannatha across India.
It is celebrated worldwide besides its spiritual home Puri, a city in eastern India.

Haripuja devi dasi attended the Art College of Pittsburgh in 1970-71, where she learned to hand-design advertisements. Being the age before computers, this art form would later allow her to hand-correct Srila Prabhupada’s book negatives. Her real desire was to learn fashion design. Haripuja prabhu tried many things before coming to Krishna Consciousness such as modeling, traveling, and yoga. She was searching for answers about God and this world. Upon meeting the devotees, satisfying answers convinced her to join the temple in Pittsburgh in 1971. Within a year, she took initiation.
As ISKCON’s flagship project The Temple of the Vedic Planetarium’s representatives put it: “The day has come. The suspense is over. After over a year of correspondence, negotiations and near failure, the blue marble has finally been ordered.”

This year’s annual ISKCON North American Leadership Conference, held at Hare Krishna Dham in Houston, Texas from January 9th to 12th, presented many developments that inspired both new and seasoned devotees alike.

ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) commonly known as the Hare Krishna movement opened a centre in the heart of Sandton, the commercial hub of Southern Africa. Since opening in August the centre has hosted several seminars and festivals with the famous Sunday Love Feast program a weekly feature. The project has entered a new phase of construction beginning the new contract for laying the brick on the walls and on the floors. Maintaining the TOVP standards, only India’s finest brick was chosen. This layer will form a solid base upon which the marble and decorative cladding works will be added. Furthermore, the walls will serve as weather protection for all of the structural elements.

On the evening of 22nd of December’ 2013, at Gangadham ground chowk, Pune, both Radhanath Swami and Sindhutai Sapkal were honored as the chief guests at the performance of ‘Jaoo Devayacha gava’, a Marathi rendition of a drama on the life of Saint Tukaram (1577-1650), one of the most important and popular saints of bhakti tradition. Over five thousand people viewed the show directed by Sanjay Bhosle.

I loved sitting down and just soaking in the sounds from the temple. The people singing, the ringing of the bells, the blow of the conch shell were some of the sounds that I remember the most. I saw people from all over the world, Australia, Europe and different parts of the US coming to the Vrindavan temple.
Due to unusually cold weather attendance was down at our first festival in Ahmedabad last night. But we made up for it with our preaching on a popular talk show the same evening. Several million people watched “G Television” as myself, Sri Prahlad das and Syama Premi dasi spoke for 40 minutes about Srila Prabhupada establishing Krsna consciousness in the west and how Lord Krsna’s teachings in Bhagavad Gita can solve the problems of modern society. We also went into great detail about the glories of chanting Hare Krsna and ended with a sweet kirtan. What bliss!
