Hare Krishna! Varshana – Sunrise Aerial Darshan (10 min video)
Prananatha das: I had spent two weeks at Govardhan last October (2014) working on the film “Govardhan Seva” but during that time I didn’t get the opportunity to visit Varshana. So, on the morning I was leaving, my taxi was heading towards Delhi and I asked the driver to quickly stop at Varshana. The sun was just rising. It was so stunning. I put the drone in the air for a few minutes and, what you see in the video is the unedited footage. I used only a few seconds of footage in Govardhan Seva. Last night I suddenly remembered the rest of the footage was sitting there, so, happy Radhastami .

Introducing Krishna consciousness into the heart of Mongolia (6 min video)
Indradyumna Swami: Mongolia’s vast steppe is home to one of the world’s last surviving nomadic cultures. Situated between China and Russia, the Mongolian steppe remains mostly intact, and its nomadic way of life has been largely unchanged for generations. Some herding customs alive today pre-date the era of Genghis Khan. Slowly, however, the steppe’s landscape is changing, as more and more of its nomadic population move to urban areas in search of education, employment, and modern conveniences. On our 8-hour drive to Erdenet for our first public program in the city, we passed many nomadic people herding their cows, horses and sheep.

Hare Krishna! Iskcon devotees from Thailand visit the Indian Ambassador to Thailand
By Srila Prabhupada’s mercy, on the 50th Anniversary of his reaching the western lands, devotees from ISKCON Bangkok paid a visit to the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Harsh Vardhan Shringla. Upon reaching the office, the devotees were warmly welcomed with a sweet, “Hare Krishna”, by the Ambassador himself. The Ambassador was very happy to see the Bhagvad Gita translated into Thai and the Thai devotees who were present there. A Damodar doll, some books by Srila Prabhupada(translated into thai), and an English Bhagvad Gita was presented to him.

Hare Krishna! Research Team Forms at Chippiwada Temple
Due to the recent passing away of His Grace Brahmananda dasa, in July 2015 I ventured to Sri Vrindavan dhama. Prior to his passing, Brahmananda and I had planned to write an article together for Back to Godhead magazine about Srila Prabhupada translating SrimadBhagavatam in the small Chippiwada temple in Old Delhi in the 1960s. At the time of our discussion, neither Brahmananda nor I had the resources to pursue the necessary research for the article, so now I decided to complete this task on behalf of Brahmananda and myself. During my few days visiting the temple, a small research team of local devotees quickly and unexpectedly formed, driven by everyone’s intense interest in Prabhupada’s presence at the temple in the 1960s.

Hare Krishna! Sri Radha – The Giver Of Never Enough
“You (Sri Krishna) are the playful king of Goloka and She is Your playful companion. When You are the king of Vaikuntha, She, the daughter of Vrsabhanu, is Goddess Lakshmi. When in this world You are Ramachandra, She is Janaka’s daughter Sita. When You are Lord Hari, She is Kamala. When You are Yajna-avatar, She is Sri Dakshina, the best of wives. When You are Nrsimha, She is Rama. When You are Nara’s friend Narayana Rsi, She becomes Goddess Santi and follows You like a shadow. When You are Brahman, She is Prakrti. When You are Time, the wise know She is Pradhana. When You are the Mahat-tattva, from which the universes have sprouted, Radha is the potency Maya, filled with the three modes. When You become the four things in the heart [heart, mind, intelligence, and false ego], She becomes the power of understanding something from a hint. When You become the universal form, which includes everything, She becomes the earth”.

Hare Krishna! The Cowgirls’ Song of Separation (9 min video)
On the auspicious occasion of Radhastami, we are pleased to release a video rendition of Gopi Gita from Srimad Bhagavatam. These verses are found in the 31st Chapter of the 10th canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. These famous prayers were sung by the Gopis when Krishna suddenly disappeared from their company and they were searching for Him everywhere. This is one of the finest poetry ever composed. Srimad Bhagavatam is ‘Grantharaja’, the king of all the scriptures and this poetry is one of its crest jewels.

Hare Krishna! A wonderful story by His Holiness Radhanatha Swami
In 1971 I was a devotee of Lord Siva, I was traveling from the area Pashupatinatha to Amarnatha for a pilgrimage in month of August. Very crowded third class train, didn’t sit down for about 40 hours. Finally the train stopped and I wanted to somehow or other to move, so I crawled over people’s heads, somehow I pulled myself out of the window, because I had these attachments. The train started moving and I tried to get back in and it was so very crowded, no window to fit a human being inside. So the train left and I was in this unknown place. I asked a sadhu on the railway platform – where is this. He said this is Mathura, today is Janmastami! So he took me to Janmasthaana where I spent the whole day.

Preaching in Mongolia (Album with photos)
Indradyumna Swami: Two days ago we ventured 500 kilometers from the capital of Mongolia to Erdenet. The 9-hour drive on rough roads took us through some of the most breath taking scenery in the country. We are visiting all these towns and villages for the first time. Previously our movement didn’t have permission to do harinam and public programs. Now that we do, we find people spontaneously chant Hare Krsna and dance with little or no encouragement. For those who can tolerate austerity, Mongolia is a great adventure on behalf of the Lord.

Addressing The Nation (6 min video)
Indradyumna Swami: When Mongolia’s main television channel, Mongolian National Broadcaster, learned about our historic tour through the country, they invited me to speak on their news program. They said, “You will have the opportunity to address the entire nation.” I eagerly accepted their invitation and yesterday spoke on the evening news at prime time about our philosophy, way of life and how Krsna consciousness can contribute to Mongolian culture. After the program the lady who interviewed me smiled and said, “Don’t be surprised now if everywhere you go in Mongolia people recognise you.“

Hare Krishna! Forever Grateful to Srila Prabhupada
Padmapani das: Thus we can understand that the essence of Krishna consciousness is love — love for the Supreme Lord and all His parts and parcels. So Prabhupada arrived on the shores of America with a most appealing message at a remarkably appropriate time in the history of the world. Young people everywhere were screaming and clamoring for love, and Prabhupada distributed the highest form of love without charge. “Please chant Hare Krishna and be happy” he would tell us again and again. It’s no wonder that Lord Siva proclaims the following: “My dear Parvati, there are different methods of worship, and out of all such methods the worship of the Supreme Person is considered to be the highest. But even higher than the worship of the Lord is the worship of the Lord’s devotees.” (Lord Siva, Padma Purana)

Mispronouncing the Holy Name?
“The letters of the holy name have so much spiritual potency that they act even when uttered improperly.
PURPORT
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura states that the word vyavahita (“improperly uttered”) is not used here to refer to the mundane vibration of the letters of the alphabet. Such negligent utterance for the sense gratification of materialistic persons is not a vibration of transcendental sound. Utterance of the holy name while one engages in sense gratification is an impediment on the path toward achieving ecstatic love for Krsna. On the other hand, if one who is eager for devotional service utters the holy name even partially or improperly, the holy name, which is identical with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, exhibits its spiritual potency because of that person’s offenseless utterance. Thus one is relieved from all unwanted practices, and one gradually awakens his dormant love for Krsna.

Hare Krishna! Prabhupada’s arrival in the west: Day Two at Bhaktivedanta Manor
‘Today is the 38th day of our journey and we reached New York Port at 12/30 p.m. about three hours later than the scheduled time.’ Srila Prabhupada, Sunday 19th September 1965 In 1922 Kolkata, a young A.C. Bhaktivedanta SwamiPrabhupada met his spiritual master for the first time. In that meeting he received the instruction to go to the west and teach the message of Krishna. He took the instruction to heart as he later told his followers: ‘Because I have been ordered by my superior, my spiritual master: “Whatever you have learned, you should go to the Western countries, and you must distribute this knowledge.” So in spite of all my difficulties, all my inconveniences, I am here.Because I am obligated by duty’.

Hare Krishna! Radha-Prema Makes Krsna Mad
Gour Govinda Swami : “The love of Radhika is My teacher, and I am Her dancing pupil. Her prema makes Me dance various novel dances.”(Cc, Adi-lila 4.121-124) “You will find three topics in radha-prema. Radha-prema is so powerful that it makes Krsna, who is almighty and all-powerful, mad. Krsna is all-powerful, almighty and omnipotent, yet He becomes mad for radha-prema. So radha-prema is greater than Him. Number two is that the pleasure and happiness derived from relishing the mellow of that love, radha-prema, is unknown to Krsna. It is unknown to Him who is all-knowing. Therefore radha-prema is greater. The third and last point is that there is a combination of two opposites in radha-prema. One after another we will discuss these three topics.”

Hare Krishna! A Look at India From the Views of Other Scholars
First of all, as explained in The Ancient World by John Haywood, “India is the birthplace of two of the world’s great religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. Today, nearly half the world’s population live in countries whose cultural development has been influenced by one or both of these religions. Apart from India itself, these countries include China, Tibet, Nepal, Japan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia. The influence of ancient India was not just limited to its religions. Indian mathematicians were the first in the Old World to discover the mathematical value of zero, and gave the world quadratic equations and the now universally used system of ‘Arabic’ numerals. The alphabets of Tibet, Mongolia and all of the Southeast Asian languages are of Indian origin. Yet despite their wide-ranging influence, the early civilizations of the Indian subcontinent are the least well-known of any of the ancient civilizations.”

The gurukula is planned in Baranovka, a small village 15 kilometers from Sochi City Center, which devotees have dubbed “Balaramovka.” The devotee community there, started by the late leader of ISKCON’s Sastric Advisory Council Purnachandra Goswami in 2009, consists of about fifty devotees.
