Hare Krishna! Radhakunda Seva: July 2015 Photos and Updates
The Radhakunda Seva team: What a busy month this was! Purusottama Adika Masa (the very auspicious extra lunar month which comes once every three years) brought unprecedented crowds. Even at midday under the scorching sun, there was no diminishing of the throngs of pilgrims doing parikrama around Govardhana and Radha Kunda. And then to top off the joyous madness, the month ended with Guru Purnima, Govardhan’s biggest parikrama day of the year. With your support, we were able to distribute thousands of bowls of prasada to hungry pilgrims in the days leading up to Guru Purnima, and especially on Guru Purnima day. On that day, we distributed 100kgs of sweet Bhoondi prasadam which was hugely popular amongst the crowds. We are happy to report that we finally received a shipment of the high quality acrylic latex paint we had been trying to obtain for months. Painting of the walls at Sakhi Kunda is well underway and we plan to paint other areas as well. We are hopeful that this type of paint will stand the test of time, inclement weather, and salty plaster.

Vancouver Harinama (Album with photos)
Srila Prabhupada: Lord Krishna stresses the importance of remembering Him. One‘s memory of Krishna is revived by chanting the maha-mantra, Hare Krishna. By this practice of chanting and hearing the sound vibration of the Supreme Lord, one’s ear, tongue and mind are engaged. This mystic meditation is very easy to practice, and it helps one attain the Supreme Lord. (Bhagavad-Gita 8.8 Purport)

Hare Krishna! We Shall Call Our Society ISKCON
July 11, 1966. 26 Second Avenue, New York City: A few sympathetic, interested people gather in a small downtown storefront to help an Indian swami’s mission by adding their signature to a legal document. Today, ISKCON has branches all over the world. Millions of lives have been transformed by the Hare Krishna mantra and the philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita—thanks to the vision of Srila Prabhupada and the efforts of his sincere followers. But in 1966, no one (except Prabhupada himself) could foresee how this society could ever manifest on such a scale. Here’s an excerpt from Srila Prabhupada Lilamrita, a detailed biography of Srila Prabhupada, describing the humble yet momentous event of ISKCON’s incorporation. 1966: The Lower East Side, New York. The building was humble, the membership small, yet Srila Prabhupada’s vision encompassed the whole world.

Hare Krishna! Can I get out of here?
Brahmananda dasa: In 1971 Prabhupada was having big public programs in India, and one evening an Arya Samajist challenged Prabhupada. He said, “Oh, Swamiji, you have come to India with your western chelas, but we know all these things. This is our culture. Better you go to the other places and do your work there. All right, you have been to the West, but what about the Muslim countries? What about Pakistan? You should go to Pakistan and preach there. Make them devotees.” This was in a public pandal with thousands of people. Prabhupada said, “You are challenging us to go?” The man said, “Yes. I challenge you. You must go to Pakistan.” Prabhupada said, “All right. We will go.” Prabhupada wrote a letter to me, “Immediately go to West Pakistan.” He also wrote to Gargamuni, “Immediately go to East Pakistan.”

Hare Krishna! HH Niranjana Swami in Istanbul
In 3 programs we had total of 90 guests. Maharaja was first day talking about Sannyasa Yoga and he was reading from Bhagavad Gita 6th chapter. Maharaja was explaining how yoga is done as tapasya and the relationship between eightfold yoga system and bhakti yoga in a very simple way that even first time comers could understand it perfectly. I don’t need to mention about kirtans since we all know how Maharaja’s kirtans. We were chanting as if we were above clouds, not touching to the ground. Second day program Maharaja introduced Sri Hari Namastakam prayers to the Turkish audience. He was explaining prayers with full of emotions by remembering passing of HH Sridhara Swami in Mayapur in 2004.

Hare Krishna! Tributes 2015 is now available to download
Tributes is a collection of offerings from the direct disciplines of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The book is now in its seventh year and is produced by a small group of devotees. This year it was funded by one devotee from Africa, who wishes to remain anonymous. To celebrate ISKCON’s 50th anniversary next year, we would like to reach as many disciples of Srila Prabhupada as possible and special edition of Tributes. I would like to encourage all devotees to help reach out to disciples of Srila Prabhupada and spread the word.

Hare Krishna! Divine Darshan for Ganga Devi (Flood in Mayapur 2015)
Flood has been on everyone’s mind for awhile now, as we experienced record amount of rain throughout July. But most of us thought it’s too early, previous times it was at the end of September back in 2007 and 2000. It is a grand Mayapur ‘tradition’ that every 7-8 years Ganga Devi is coming to visit Sri Sri Radha Madhava and Ashta Sakhis, Sri Panca-Tattva and Sri Prahlad Nrsimhadev. So it’s official, Ganga Devi is in the temple room now getting a divine darshan. She also visited TOVP construction site to see the latest construction progress and we hope She is very happy by our humble efforts to please Lord Caitanya and Srila Prabhupada. If She would follow her regular schedule, next visit will be in 2022, the year of Grand Opening of the TOVP. Below we have pictures taken yesterday and today of the TOVP surrounding area and some shots of inside the Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple. Be amazed!

Never Stop Chanting video goes high on MusicBed Film Festival – need votes!
We have submitted our short doc video “Never Stop Chanting” to the MusicBed Film Festival and it’s doing very good. We’ve reached the top but then got overrun by another contender.
Currently it s an uphill battle for the #1 position in a People’s Choice category. Winning at the festival would be a nice chance to get Prabhupad’s message across!
Here is the link for our submission that we need help in voting up:
