Temple of the Vedic Planetarium – His Holiness Bhakti Vaibhava Swami (11 min video)
Bhakti Vaibhava Maharaja talks about Srila Prabhupada’s vision about the scientific basis of Krishna consciousness and that once we are able to explain this properly, people from all over the world will come to Mayapur. And Mayapur would become a huge city with its own airport, etc. Srila Prabhupada has simply revived and expanded on the original vision of our predecessor acharyas.

Durban Ratha Yatra (Album with photos)
Indradyumna Swami: Attendance was down at this year’s Durban Ratha Yatra because of heavy rain. Nevertheless, thousands braved the wet weather to enjoy 4 days of transcendental festivities. A high point was when national television came and interviewed us. The interviewer, a young lady who dressed in a sari for the occasion, chanted and danced with us in great jubilation before the camera. Such is the mercy of Lord Jagannatha, Lord of the universe.

Hare Krishna! Second Generation Devotee Conferred With A National Legal Award In Kuala Lumpur
Hema says: The concept of ‘I, me, and myself’ is non-existing in my team as we vouch for each other and ensure that we swim and steadily keep each other afloat together, as a team. I learnt this concept through my wonderful up-bringing in ISKCON. My gurumaharaj and our stalwart ISKCON leaders have always demonstrated wonderful leadership qualities that we can all emulate alongside a great showcase of teamwork. I did nothing but only followed in their footsteps and it worked tremendously well for me.

Hare Krishna! The Gita Condensed
Srila Prabhupada’s purports (commentaries) illuminate for us the verses spoken by Krishna and Arjuna. The following condensed version of their historic conversation combines key points from the verses and purports in the same sequence as the original. These are not direct quotes and thus cannot replace the complete Bhagavad-gita As It Is. Instead, this version provides an overview of the philosophical thread of the Gita. It is consistent with Srila Prabhupada’s comprehensive edition and can be used for introduction or review.

Hare Krishna! Life and Afterlife: Does Modern Science Have it Right?
I recently read one of the latest books by Ian Stevenson, entitled European Cases of the Reincarnation Type. Dr. Stevenson is a research professor of psychiatry at the University of Virginia, and he has been doing research on the subject of reincarnation for more than thirty years. Over this period, he has accumulated several hundred accounts of young children who consciously remember details of past lives, exhibit birthmarks or phobias connected with a former person’s death, or even speak fluently in languages with which they have had no prior contact.

Hare Krishna! “Do You Still Believe in God?”
“Do you still believe in God when He didn’t – or couldn’t – protect you in His own temple?” This blunt question in my friend’s email brought a smile to my face. Some months before, I had slipped on some spilled water in the ISKCON temple at Juhu, Mumbai. The fall was minor, but the pain was severe. An x-ray showed a cervical hip fracture that had dislocated the bone at its neck. I was rushed to the devotee-run Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai, where the orthopedic surgeon Giriraja Dasa (Dr. Girish Rathore) performed a 4.5-hour surgery and advised a three-month rest for healing.

Hare Krishna! Proposal From The Temple of Vedic Planetarium (TOVP) Team
Whereas the GBC Body, recognizing the special priority personally expressed and emphasized by Srila Prabhupada in his words and writings to construct the TOVP, provided for the entire BBT Construction Fund to be contributed to the TOVP for a period of five years, which is now ending; Whereas notwithstanding the launching of a full-time, world-wide Fund Raising Campaign, the TOVP’s very nature and magnitude is unprecedented in size and quality of materials and works—as specified by Srila Prabhupada—and in spite of the frugality of expenditure as evidenced by its accounts, remains in critical need of further funding to keep the construction going without interruption to prohibit any further increase in budget and delay, especially as it now enters the crucial finishing stages;

Glorification of HH Jayapataka Swami by HH Radhanatha Swami
Jayapataka Swami is a senior disciple of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
He was born John Gordan Erdman on April 9, 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA to John Hubert and Lorraine Erdman. He was born into opulent surroundings, his grand-father being the founder of a large paint factory, which was a multi-million dollar concern at the time of his birth. Later HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja was glad to see that his name – Gordan John (Gour Dhan Jan) – already suggested what Srila Prabhuapda confirmed, that he and two other devotees were formerly associates of Lord Caitanya and that they had taken their birth in the west to facilitate spreading Krishna consciousness around the world.

Srila Prabhupada: “Sri Krishna, the Personality of Godhead, who is the Paramatma (Supersoul) in everyone’s heart and the benefactor of the truthful devotee, cleanses desire for material enjoyment from the heart of the devotee who relishes His messages, which are themselves virtuous when properly heard and chanted.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 1.2.17).

Hare Krishna! “By his example”: GOVARDHAN HILL
About the Vrindavan days from my book “By his example”. The entourage included the Maharaja of Bharatpur, two queens, the prince, various relatives, zamindhars (landowners loyal to the king), agents, a doctor, and eight soldiers dressed in Jat military uniforms, part of the Maharaja’s private army. Twelve servants carried the supplies and the largest incense sticks I have ever seen. These sticks were twelve feet high and thick as a python. Servants, beautifully dressed in long, silk robes, carried large torches ahead of the party so we could see.

Hare Krishna! “The Pizza Effect”
The main course arrived: pizza. The devotees were thrilled, since this is a much loved treat in these parts – but only when offered to Krishna, natch! “Hey,” one devotee quipped, “What about pizza? How does this relate to Krishna consciousness?” Luckily, I had been writing about just such a subject in a recent project for a major academic press. I am writing a high school reference book on Hinduism, and in my research I came upon an interesting reference to pizza.

Hare Krishna! Pili Pokhara Pastime
By Sivarama Swami
One morning Mother Yasoda resolved to propose the match of Radha and Krsna to the queen of Varsana. While Radhika was preparing to go home, Yasoda held her hand and said, “Radha! You are now of marriageable age. I know no one more suited for You than my son.” Taking Radha’s small hand in hers, Mother Yasoda gazed at the auspicious signs on Radha’s palms. With tears in her eyes, Yasoda reached for a tray of turmeric and gently wiped Sri Radhika’s pinkish palms until they were colored yellow. “Radha! Do you know what this means?”

ISKCON Temples To Be On India’s Tourist Maps
On Wednesday, 1st April 2015, Minister of State of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation Dr. Mahesh Sharma (who is also a MP from Gautam Budh Nagar, Nodia, UP, from BJP) visited the Noida ISKCON temple. The objective of the meeting was to seek the minister’s help in linking ISKCON’s spiritual tourism to India’s tourism map and recognising ISKCON’s participation in promoting Indian Vedic culture around the world. The Minister arrived at 11am and after taking darshan of Sri Sri Radha Govinda Dev, then went to the meeting room where Gopal Krishna Goswami gave him a maha garland and some maha prasadam from Vrindavan. Gopal Krishna Goswami presented showed two short videos to the Minister, one about the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium (TOVP) in Mayapur, one about the Krishna-valley Indian Cultural Center and Ecovillage in Hungary as an example of ISKCON’s work in the areas of cow protection, promoting vegetarianism, Indian culture, yoga, spiritual education and in bringing foreign visitors to India.

Hare Krishna! Pure existence
Selves are beings that experience, centers of consciousness, subjects. Matter does not experience; it is without subjectivity, it is completely an object. Selves live; matter is lifeless. When the selves enter the alien, material energy, they acquire and animate bodies ma& out of lifeless matter. Driven by a desire to forget Krishna and their relation to Him, they identify themselves with bodies of matter- In this way the self becomes a divided being.

Hare Krishna! Devotees’ strike
I was thinking about those devotees in our movement who have stopped to drink milk at all. I have realized it is a form of strike. I use to drink proper milk but I will strike with you. We should get boards, stand before temple on Sunday feast of LOVE as Srila Prabhupada established and demand our spiritual rights. We should have signs like this: “We giving you donations and you buying cars, BUT WE WANT COWS!” “You give to our children poisonous food and milk, instead of liberating us, you are implementing us into ugra karma.”

Thousands of people turned up for Durban’s 27th Ratha Yatra festival (Album with photos)
Indradyumna Swami: Thousands of people turned up for Durban’s 27th Ratha Yatra festival along the beachfront yesterday. The 5-hour parade captured the attention of both locals and tourists as 3 large chariots rumbled through the streets. The festival continues for 3 more days with attractions in an assortment of tents, large and small, not far from the beach. I was happy to be out and about once again, sharing with the world the wonder of Krsna consciousness though the eye of my camera.

Original Harmonist Magazines Restored in Eight-Volume Set
More than ninety years after the last issue of The Harmonist – the legendary academic magazine produced by ISKCON Founder Srila Prabhupada’s guru Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati – all its issues have been lovingly restored in a new eight-volume set dubbed “The Harmonist As It Is.” The Harmonist first appeared in Bengali under the name “Sajjana Toshani” in 1879, published by Bhaktisiddhanta’s father, the Vaishnava saint Srila Bhaktivinode Thakura. After Bhaktivinode passed away, his son Srila Bhaktisiddhanta began his preaching mission, the Shri Gaudiya Math, and established a printing press. In 1927, he launched an English version of Sajjana Toshani entitled The Harmonist. The magazine, which ran until he passed away in 1936, included new articles by Bhaktisiddhanta as well as Bhaktivinode Thakura’s original articles translated into English.
