Hare Krishna! What Men Always Wanted to Know About Women
During January the Institute for Spiritual Culture in Mayapur launched for the very first time the course “Men in Spiritual Culture – what Men Always Wanted to Know about Women”. A wonderful group of around 40 intelligent men attended all five sessions of three hours each with great eagerness and interest. The audience was very mixed: a couple of Prabhupada disciples were there, a few school teachers from the Mayapur Community, Bhakti Sastri teachers, many young fellows from all corners of the world, some boys who grew up in our ISKCON movement and are now in their twenties, some senior devotees from the Mayapur Community. Really, very inspiring indeed…!

Hare Krishna! Radhanath Swami Speaks at Divine Life Society’s International Headquarters
During the evening Satsanga Swami Vimalananda Saraswati introduced Radhanath Swami to an international gathering of 150 yogis and devotees; leaders of the society, including General Secretary Swami Padmanabhananda Saraswati, were present. “We met each other for the first time in the 1970s on a mountaintop monastery in the United States. There we chanted the holy names and danced together,” Swami Vimalananda Saraswati fondly recalled. He glorified Srila Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, for spreading the glories of the Mahamantra all over the world.

Hare Krishna! Mumbai’s municipal schools to teach ‘Bhagavad Gita’ to students
“We shall impart the knowledge of ‘Bhagwad Gita’ to students to make them independent and sharpen their power in decision making,” Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai’s (MCGM) Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ramdas Bhausaheb said. He was speaking at a prize distribution function of ‘Gita Champions League’ contest, organised by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) here on March 15. Mr. Bhausaheb said MCGM has 1,200 schools with a total strength of 4,78,000 students where the corporation spends over Rs. 3,500 crore every year to impart free education to children in nine regional languages, a press release here said.

Srila Prabhupada carried us all to another realm. Hare Krishna! TOVP Team Travels North America with Lord Nityananda’s Paduka, Nrsimhadev’s Satari and Jananivas Prabhu from Mayapur
The devotees showed an overwhelming response to the presentation by making pledges toward the temple construction to the tune of $850,000. Next, the team traveled to Dallas, and made a similar presentation at the temple on Sunday. More than 300 people from the congregation attended, with another surprising response of $1,000,000 in collective pledges. The temple president of Dallas, Nityananda Prabhu, was pleasantly surprised by the generosity, since he was expecting us not to collect any more than $50,000. He has been so pleased to see his congregation respond so favorably to the Mayapur Project, that he has further pledged $1,000,000 from his temple congregation, to be sent to Mayapur.

Just as Srila Jiva Gosvami’s Sat-sandarbhas were based on Srila Gopala Bhatta Gosvami’s notes on the Srimad-Bhagavatam, similarly Srila Rupa Gosvami’s grammatical treatise is the work which inspired Jiva Gosvami to write a full-fledged version of it.

Srila Prabhupada: The human being has a particular type of business. That business is to study and discuss the bhagavata life. That is our natural business. We should try to understand Bhagavan, God. The relationship between Bhagavan and the bhakta, or devotee, is called bhagavatadharma. The business of human life is very easy: Simply hear about Krishna. Krishna is Bhagavan, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and we are part of Krishna. Suppose I have forgotten my home. I left my home a long time ago and have forgotten my father. So if somebody reminds me, “Do you know such-and-such gentleman? He is your father. You were playing in such a way, your father was helping you …” In this way, if he simply talks of my father, I will remember my home. Similarly, we have forgotten our relationship with Krishna. If we simply hear about Him, then we will remember.

HH Indradyumna Swami’s health update.
Indradyumna Swami: Dear devotees,
Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I would like to thank all of you for your concern, your care and especially your prayers during these last few days. As my dear friend Govinda Swami reported, I was recently diagnosed with Melanoma skin cancer, but the small malignant mole was successfully removed and further testing showed the cancer had not spread anywhere at all. I am presently recovering from surgery to the affected area. My doctors are happy with the results and told me today that I’ll be good to go in a few weeks time.
Krsna has been very kind to me and I have had many realizations over the past 2 weeks. I am more grateful than ever for the mercy of my spiritual master, the association of devotees, the holy names, service to my Deities, the chanting of my gayatri mantras, the abode of Sri Vrindavan Dhama and service to the samkirtan movement of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. I wake up each morning and thank the Lord for a new day of service and the opportunity to come closer to His Lotus feet. I am infinitely more aware now how temporary life is and am determined to use every second of what remains of my life in service to guru and Gauranga. I feel a resurgence of dedication to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s instructions to me to, ‘preach boldly and have faith in the holy names.’ In fact, I feel my service to him has only just begun. Once again I thank all of you for remembering me in my time of difficulty. I look forward to your association for many years to come.

In honor of the passing of our dear Godsister, Nandalal Dasi, here is part of a manuscript she wrote about her dandauti parikrama of Govardhan. “I was initiated in 1970 in Los Angeles. Shortly after joining the temple I was told by temple authorities that because I was 28 and had been married as a karmi, I should not get married in the Movement. I became Karandhar Prabhu’s secretary and was also in charge of the Brahmacarinis for periods of time.”
