Hare Krishna! Bhaktivedanta Hospice: Aid for the Journey Home
Shortly before passing away in Vrindavan, a devotee requested her spiritual master to establish a “Back to Godhead” clinic there for Srila Prabhupada’s followers. The land is adjacent to the parikrama road trod by pilgrims during their devotional walks around Vrindavan. It is a sacred grove of mostly kadamba and tamala trees known as Giriraj Bhag (“Giriraj’s garden”). For five generations it belonged to the family of Sri Padmanabha Goswami, hereditary priests and caretakers of Vrindavan’s Radha-ramana Temple.

Hare Krishna! Why are Women in today’s India not Safe
The Bhagavad-gita (16.21) identifies lust, anger, and greed as the “three gates leading to hell.” Present-day society is unfortunately well equipped to aggravate the disease of lust. Obscenity has become so common in movies, TV, advertisements, Bollywood songs, and so on. Some leading newspapers and magazines are stuffed with semi-nude pictures of women just to increase circulation. Internet and mobile pornography is at its peak. Even in cricket tournaments like IPL semi-clad cheerleaders are brought in to entice the audience.

Hare Krishna! Narada Muni – The Father of Devotional Service
NARADA MUNI is exalted in Vedic texts as one of the twelve mahajanas, or great authorities on eternal truth. Details of his life and teachings are recounted in the Narada Purana, the Padma Purana, and throughout Srimad-Bhagavatam. So advanced is his level of spirituality that in these texts he is even sometimes called “Bhagavan,” a term usually reserved for the Supreme Lord, and in the Bhagavad-gita (10.26) Lord Krsna Himself says, “Of the sages among the demigods, I am Narada.”

Guest leaves his body amongst devotees chanting the Lord’s Names!
Kadamba Kanana Swami: There was this man lying on the floor, flapping and totally grey… and, you know, he was clearly on the edge and there were three hundred devotees chanting Hare Krsna for him. The temple president called the emergency number and a helicopter came flying in. These men in red overalls came out of the helicopter and tried to revive the man with electric shock but three hundred devotees were chanting and praying, “Let him die!” because what better way to go than with three hundred chanting devotees! They could have revived him and put him in a hospital on some respirator and he may have lived a few days longer until somebody pulled the plug but instead, it was better to let him die in the middle of the kirtan which was his best chance.

What Are The True Qualities Of A Vaishnava?
Ananta Acharya called the devotee and told him that he will now reply to his question. *He answered that a true Vaishnava is like a crane, like a hen, like salt and like you.* The devotee thanked him but he could not understand its real meaning. He comes back to Parasara Bhatt, narrates him the whole story and then requests him to explain its meaning to him. Parasara Bhatt, of course, understood it all and explained as follows…

Hare Krishna! Nedzad and his amazing Sankirtana experiences
Nedzad was born in a family of practicing Muslims in the city of Tuzla in present day Bosnia in the year 1965. His father was from Tuzla, but his mother was born in Montenegro. His father was not very strict in his practices and was into music. But his mother was a very strict Muslim and she had attended Muslim school. “My mother was from a strict family tradition wherein the girls were trained in high standards. They were much regulated with no illicit sex even in mind and they knew even as a child that they were meant to be married to and stay loyal to one man throughout the life,” Nedzad quips.

2015 Gaura Purnima Abhisheka in Hare Krishna Melbourne (Album 78 photos)
O my merciful Lord Caitanya, may the nectarean Ganges waters of Your transcendental activities flow on the surface of my desertlike tongue. Beautifying these waters are the lotus flowers of singing, dancing and loud chanting of Krishna’s holy name, which are the pleasure abodes of unalloyed devotees. These devotees are compared to swans, ducks and bees. The river’s flowing produces a melodious sound that gladdens their ears. (Chaitanya-caritamrita 2.2)

Radhakunda Seva: February 2015 Photos and Updates (Album 85 photos)
Happy Gaura Purnima, dear friends! On this most auspicious day of Mahaprabhu’s 529th appearance anniversary, we are happy to share with you that the promotional video Prananatha Prabhu so kindly made for us will be posted shortly. Finally! 🙂 We are praying to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu for His mercy so that we can do some service in the Dhama. He asked the six Goswamis to restore the Dhama and reestablish the sites of Radha and Krishna’s pastime. If we can play some small part in this desire of Gauranga Mahaprabhu, we feel ourselves to be most fortunate.
We are still working to transfer the land that was donated to the name of our trust. We will keep you informed as to the progress of that.
Raised beds and benches were built at the Sakhi Kunda Garden area this month and we are really excited to put plants there soon.
We’re trying to get government cooperation to fix the leaking pipe. We’ll keep you informed on that too.
The prasadam distribution to pilgrims and residents of Radha Kunda has expanded. Besides their daily meal of roti and sabji, the widows are now getting two feasts per month. And we’ve added puris to the bi-monthly kitri distribution.

Srila Prabhupada: It is the aspiration of a devotee that while he chants the Hare Krishna maha-mantra his eyes will fill with tears, his voice falter and his heart throb. These are good signs in chanting the holy name of the Lord.

Hare Krishna! From Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir: HH Bhakti Purusottam Swami
When the living entities they forget Krishna, they develop desire to enjoy separately from Krishna so maya catches. That’s why Bhagavad Gita explaining that two kinds of living entities as, ksara and aksara. ksara living entities they are prone to fall down, they are prone to fall down, so they develop this desire thinking that I will go enjoy separately from Krishna and though Krishna forbids him but still he wants to come. Prabhupada saying, Krishna is greatest friend of the living entity. Just like a friend always likes to fulfill the desire of his friend, then Krishna reluctantly He wants to fulfill the desire of this living entity and living entity wants to come to this material world thinking I will enjoy, I will enjoy more in this material world.

Hare Krishna! Lord Chaitanya makes the abominable age worshipable
To understand how sankirtana makes this inauspicious age auspicious, let’s consider the prison metaphor. What matters most in a prison is not how miserable it is, but how accessible the way out of it is. In Kali-yuga, the way out of the prison of material existence becomes eminently accessible: no strenuous yogic austerities, no expensive fire-sacrifices, no complicated deity worship, as was required in the previous ages; just the chanting of the names and glories of Krishna.

Inside Hare Krishna (Album 6 photos)
This project was completed during the 2014 Summer Course on Documentary Photography at the LCC in London organised in collaboration with Magnum Photos. The pictures were taken over a period of one week.
It was a wonderful experience that gave me a first unique insight into the Hare Krishna’s way of life different from the well known chant and dancing performances in the streets of Soho. In addition to the colourful temple life with its worship sessions and festivals, I was given access to the men’s as well as the women’s ashram in order to acquire a sense of place that is very much interwoven with the basic principle of devotional service or Bahkti. To serve another is to serve the devine and therefore spiritual in nature and the way to transcendence.

THE LIFE OF A DEVOTEE Krishna Kirtana dasa
In 1998, KK was diagnosed with renal failure. He was eventually put on dialysis and underwent a kidney transplant in 2004 with a kidney donated by Malini. Unfortunately the kidney was gradually rejected and he returned to dialysis. He then opted for home dialysis four or five days a week. The six hours connected to the machine is not wasted, as he constantly reads, hears and chants. All these setbacks have not deterred KK. He regularly attends the temple and gives some Srimad Bhagavatam classes. He is also a member of the New Govardhana Advisory Board and the Financial Committee. He has recently been requested to co-ordinate the men’s mentorship programme. Krishna Kirtana, Malini and Family – Ki Jaya!

Interview with Madhava Prabhu
Q. How did you end up becoming a kirtaneer?
M. When I was 18, I asked my parents to send me to Vrindavan. I wanted to join the 24-hour kirtana. It was the early 90’s and its director Aindra dasa, trained me. He forcibly gave me the understanding to chant and follow sadhana, as I was a rebellious teenager at the time, only interested in the musical aspect of our culture. Every day he pounded hard on my ego till a year later I submitted. He literally made me. Yet, in the year 2000 I lived in the UK where I started to do kirtana with Sivarama Swami. He would invite me to Hungary, England and Ireland several times a year. I worked as a carpenter during those years, and I would travel the weekends.
