Ego Death
→ Tattva - See inside out

The three biggest fears in life: exams, public speaking and death. Of them, the final is probably the most acute. As that fateful hour approaches, everything we worked so hard for is snatched away, throwing our entire sense of identity and purpose into question. On a subtle level, however, we are regularly subjecting ourselves to this disturbing experience. How so? The world teaches us to base our sense of identity and self-worth on transitory, external and artificial considerations. When we identify with our abilities, facilities and positions of responsibility, then we set ourselves up for crisis. Why? Because the undisputable nature of this world is that such things will almost always fade away over time.

We pride ourselves in our ‘unique’ abilities – but then we witness our own ineptitude, or find someone far more qualified and competent. Painful. We find comfort in karmic gifts like beauty, physique, learning and wealth – but the waves of time callously cause them to eventually crumble. Painful. We feel valuable because of our reputation, influence and position in society – but everyone has their day, after which we all have to make way. Painful. Constant change is the underlying theme of the material phantasmagoria – its unstoppable (cannot be checked), unpredictable (will happen at any time) and uncontrollable (could occur in any way). Thus, we suffer a subtle ego death every time we falsely identify with the temporary.

Thus, wisdom teachers continually remind us to focus on our eternal, unchanging, ontological identity. As spiritual beings, our true ego lies in being a selfless servant. Everything we receive in the journey of life is simply a facility and detail in pursuance of this, with any given situation always offering a unique opportunity for selfless service. In such spiritual consciousness, all anxieties, fear and dissatisfaction disappear. You may have the experience of coming home in the evening after a day ‘in the world.’ Surrounded by our closest family and friends, we can kick back, relax and be ourselves - no artificiality, no acting, no masks. Here we feel completely comfortable, safe and natural. Imagine the satisfaction, joy, and sense of fulfilment we can experience if we live each day with the clear consciousness of who we really are... spirit souls and selfless servants. That’s the ultimate in 'being yourself.'

Hare Krishna! Time, the Winkless God
Time does not have characteristics the way earth and the other elements do and is not interdependent as the other elements are. Many commentators hold forth on this point of properties, or propertylessness. Gosvami Giridhara-lala writes that time “is not characterized by any peculiarity, and hence it is beginningless and endless.” How being without peculiarity leads to endlessness is not explained, but another commentator echoes the same idea, saying that time “is not dependent on another cause; he exists of his own accord. Hence, he is endless.” The Bhagavatam itself says that time “is endless but puts and end to all. ”

Hare Krishna! Remember God? Coming Back to My Eternal Friend
I felt disillusioned by the whole show of this world. Nothing seemed attractive. I didn’t care much for anything anymore. I started reading some semi-spiritual books that served to tantalize me but were not nearly potent enough to satisfy my inner hunger for the Absolute Truth. I felt myself waiting for something to happen. One fine afternoon Marc stumbled upon an old friend of his he had been searching for ever since we had met. As it turned out, this friend had become a Hare Krishna devotee the year before. Marc stayed at the temple for two days and came back to tell me all about it.

Stranger in a Strange Land: Searching for the Love of Our Life in The Wrong Place

Photobucket[Originally published on September 1st ,2009]We are all unique yet also very similar to others of a certain background. I see the world as a Gaudiya Vaishnava which distinguishes me from many people by my habits, desires, spiritual and religious practices, and in general my lifestyle. However, by introspection I must admit to sharing much in common with human beings termed in America as "Boomers" or those born around 1950 or so. Sometimes people pride themselves for their particular group, ignoring how each human being shares the same basic needs to maintain their body, mind, and emotions in often only slightly different ways and varying personalities and tastes. The nature of our material ego to try to convince us that we are very special in a positive or negative sense (specially gifted or flawed), and that the big world (or our small circle) should revolve around our needs, desires and mental constructs.

The more knowledgeable and humble we are the more we realize how similar we are to others, and how small and insignificant we are in relationship to our community, city, state, country, planet and the infinite Universe. We are a tiny soul, thinking we are very big and important. And we want to hear stories, read books, or watch movies that inflate our sense of self importance and greatness. This is why so many books are written and movies made.

A Short Statement of the Philosophy of Krishna Consciousness By…

A Short Statement of the Philosophy of Krishna Consciousness
By His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Founder-Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness
1) By sincerely cultivating a bona fide spiritual science, we can be free from anxiety and come to a state of pure, unending, blissful consciousness in this lifetime.
2) We are not our bodies but eternal spirit souls, parts and parcels of God (Krishna). As such, we are all brothers, and Krishna is ultimately our common father.
3) Krishna is the eternal, all-knowing, omnipresent, all-powerful, and all-attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the seed-giving father of all living beings, and He is the sustaining energy of the entire cosmic creation.
4) The Absolute Truth is contained in all the great scriptures of the world. However, the oldest known revealed scriptures in existence are the Vedic literatures, most notably the Bhagavad-gita, which is the literal record of God’s actual words.
5) We should learn the Vedic knowledge from a genuine spiritual master – one who has no selfish motives and whose mind is firmly fixed on Krishna.
6) Before we eat, we should offer to the Lord the food that sustains us. Then Krishna becomes the offering and purifies us.
7) We should perform all our actions as offerings to Krishna and do nothing for our own sense gratification.
8) The recommended means for achieving the mature stage of love of God in this age of Kali, or quarrel, is to chant the holy names of the Lord. The easiest method for most people is to chant the Hare Krishna mantra: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

A Day of Kartik month In ISKCON Vrindavana (4 min video)
Srila Prabhupada: Krishna’s Lila in Vrndavana is prakata or manifest Lila, and the same is going on eternally in the spiritual realm, which is known as aprakata or nonmanifest. Krishna’s planet and Krishna’s pastimes are going on eternally, and the same is manifested before the conditioned souls at certain intervals, once in one day of Brahma, exactly as the sun is visible for 12 hours once a 24 hour cycle of and night. When the sun is visible it is called prakata, and when the sun is not visible that is called aprakata or unmanifested. Nonmanifested therefore does not mean there is no existence, but the terms are used in relation to the visibility or nonvisibility to the limited conditioned souls. Hare Krishna! A Lesson from an Old Cleaning Man
Indradyumna Swami: Then I visited the public restroom near the festival grounds, and I complimented the old cleaning woman. “This is the cleanest public toilet I have ever seen in Poland,” I said. “Thank you very much.” She was struck. “I’ve been working here 10 years,” she said, “and you’re the first person to ever thank me. But I’m not surprised. You’re good people. I’ve watched your festival from a distance for years now. Everyone leaves your program smiling.” “Can you come also?” I said. She looked surprised. “You’re inviting me?” she asked. “Yes,” I said, “to dinner. I’ll come get you at 6 p.m. and we’ll have dinner together in our vegetarian restaurant.”

→ Nitaiprasada

Guru Maharaja give presentation and showing video about Temple of Vedic Planetarium then gave a lecture about how important is charity Giving.

Bhaktivinoda Thakur was said that by giving charity to qualified person the result will come in the next life. It is recommended to give charity to brahmanas, by giving charity to non-brahmanas we can get same amount of our charity in next life. Giving charity to half educated brahmanas we will get double result. Giving the charity to learned brahmana we will get hundred fold of result from our charity.

Guru Maharaja continued, but by giving charity to the one that realize the essence of Veda we will get unlimited result in our next life. And by giving this charity to build temple in Mayapura, Lord Nityananda, the main associate of Sri Krishna Caitanya, will give us his mercy.

Giving charity to build a temple will give us Krishna mercy. Srila Prabhupada once tell a devotee that give a charity to build Vrndavana Temple:

By giving this charity to build this temple in Vrndavana, Krishna will build you a house in Goloka Vrndavana

Initiation Part 2 Palu Central Sulawesi 2015
→ Nitaiprasada

At the beginning of the creation Krishna spoken to Brahma Deva, in Brahma heart. Krishna only spoken 4 verses and Brahma become understand of everything. Brahma then told and expand this 4 verses to His son, Narada Muni, and asking Narada to spread this message accross the universes.

Narada then travel the universe and have many disciples, the prominent one is Vyasa deva. Narada Muni then explain this verses to Vyasadeva. After Vyasa deva, then came Madhvacarya. Vyasadeva appear 5000 years ago and Madhvacarya appear about hundreds years ago. But Vyasadeva still live until today and Madhvacarya succeed to met Vyasadeva and get knowledge from him.

After Madhvacarya it is down to Madhavendra Puri, Isvara Puri, then Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. After than came Sarvabhauma, Sad Goswami, Jagannatha Dasa babaji, Bhaktivinoda Thakur, Gaurakirora Dasa Babaji, Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati then Srila Prabhupada.

This is how we get connected to our Parampara. It is important that we should connected to Parampara. Just like electricity to get the electric energy we need to plug in the correct place. The place that connected to the electric source. If we just plug into the wrong place, the place without any connection to the source, then it will be no power.

After explaining about Parampara, Guru Maharaja explain a lot of things such as 10 Aparadha, 4 principles and how to Chant the Holy Name. Please hear it more by playing the audio.

Hare Krishna! Ideal Family Life
My dear King, those who stay at home as householders must act to earn their livelihood, and instead of trying to enjoy the results of their work themselves, they should offer these results to Krishna, Vasudeva. How to satisfy Vasudeva in this life can be perfectly understood through the association of great devotees of the Lord. A grihastha must associate again and again with saintly persons, and with great respect he must hear the nectar of the activities of the Supreme Lord and His incarnations as these activities are described in Srimad-Bhagavatam and other Puranas. Thus one should gradually become detached from affection for his wife and children, exactly like a man awakening from a dream.

TOVP Daily Tour Day 59 – Arrival in Laguna Beach, California, Home of America’s Pancha Tattva
- TOVP.org

On the afternoon of Saturday, May 9th we arrived in Laguna Beach, California where the Pancha Tattva have resided for over a quarter of a century. With little time available, we quickly got ready for our TOVP presentation as devotees started arriving during the Gaura arati.

The Temple President, Tukarama prabhu, introduced the TOVP Team, and Radha Jivana prabhu began the program talking about the TOVP and then gave the microphone over to Jananivas prabhu who elaborated on the glories of Mayapur Dhama and the TOVP project. The pledging began and practically every single devotee made a pledge, including Tukarama himself who pledged towards 2 Silver Gratitude Coins and 3 Nrsimha Tiles. The program concluded with almost $280,000 pledged. Prasadam was then served. That evening we departed for our next destination, the San Diego Temple, about 1½ hours away.
