A little story about respecting others by Radhanath Swami (8 min video)
Srila Prabhupada: If one chants the holy name of God-Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare-eventually he will see Krishna’s form, realize Krishna’s qualities, and remember Krishna’s pastimes. That is the effect of the pure chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. (A Second Chance, 16)

Basically the same

jalakeli (17)Basically, human beings and even animals, all have the same soul. Wherever there is life, there is a soul, even in a plant, and therefore all life is like us.

The scriptures of the world have a common message – that we should not do to others what we do not want others to do to us. That is very deep – think about it. It is a good principle: what you don’t want someone to do to you, don’t do to others. If you just follow that, everything comes right. That is the key for being together. That will create an atmosphere of ‘live and let live’, and that is required if we want to be together.

Together we have our strengths. There is no doubt that we are stronger together than when we are alone. But what really brings us together is the realisation that we are not these bodies, but are actually souls.

“Live and let live” is an idiom expressing the ideal of allowing each other to live their lives as each sees fit.
