Our centers are like the oasis in a vast desert. In the desert there is no water, but occasionally if one is fortunate he may come in contact with an oasis and he is saved. The devotees pray for peace. "Haraye namah krsna yadavaya namah, gopala govinda rama sri-mudhusudana. This is another way of chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. The meaning is as follows: "I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna. He is the descendant of the Yadu family. Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto Gopala, Govinda, Rama and Sri Madhusudana." (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila, 25.64 Purport) Read more ›

→ Dandavats.com

Our dearest Ekadasi (previously named Emily) arrived in Gita Nagari in 2010. She was purchased along with Jalangi (Josie) from a neighboring farmer. She is a thorough bred Brown Swiss, very beautiful and healthy and gave good, delicious milk to Sri Sri Radha Damaodara for about two and a half years. She was gentle - occasionally, she would be a little feisty. But she was always curious, very observant of any new people around, any new occurrences on the farm. She was very intelligent and was all knowing:). Read more ›

Sacred Grounds

Before leaving Moscow yesterday we stopped near Red Square and the famous St. Basil’s Cathedral. I make it a point to visit there whenever I can. For me it is a place of pilgrimage because my spiritual master’s lotus feet graced those grounds on his one and only visit to Russia in 1971. It was [...]

The Hare Krishna MahaMantra Challenge with Nandan & Jamuna (2 min video)

Yes, that's right... it's the Hare Krishna MahaMantra Challenge, in which you have to sing the MahaMantra to the melody of a popular western song... it can be from any genre or time period, so long as it's not a traditional Indian melody, and it must be recognizable. Whether you tell us what the melody is or not is up to you.... We've chosen not to tell anyone what melody we used because it's more fun to make you guess. Read more ›
