Once again their Lordships Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra descended with the spiritual world and their associates and devotees to bless all the living entities in Venice Beach. Giriraj Swami attended the festival and hosted a questions-and-answers session, posted below.
“We are persons. When the soul leaves the body, the body is dead—it is just a bag of chemicals. So, that personality that animates the body is the soul. The soul is active when it is in the body, and the soul continues to be active after it leaves the body. It is a person when it is in the body, and after it leaves the body it is still a person. And Krishna is the Supreme Person. He never enters a material body. He always exists in His original, blissful, spiritual form. Our goal is to revive our loving relationship with Radha and Krishna. As far as karma is concerned—we don’t care for karma. The pains and pleasures will come and go. You can’t stop them.”

labhyate yad bhramatam upary adhah
tal labhyate duhkhavad anyatah sukham
kalena sarvatra gabhira-ramhasa
“Persons who are actually intelligent and philosophically inclined should endeavor only for that purposeful end which is not obtainable even by wandering from the topmost planet down to the lowest planet. As far as happiness derived from sense enjoyment is concerned, it can be obtained automatically in course of time, just as in course of time we obtain miseries even though we do not desire them.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.5.18)

Indradyumna Swami: Polish Woodstock came and went so quickly! The organisers say 800,000 people attended. We chanted, danced and distributed prasadam ( 126,000 full plates ) until we could no longer stand on our two feet. Kirtans went on until 4 am each morning in a tent filled constantly with hundreds of people. Many thanks to the 700 devotees from Russia, Ukraine and all over Europe who gave their hearts and souls to sharing the blissful life of Krsna consciousness with hundreds and thousands of festival goers. Certainly the lives of those people will never be the same, and neither will ours. It was a dream come true. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! 
For the past several months I am writing detailed memoirs of Srila Prabhupad, and there is a large chunk of history missing. From June 1971 through all of 1972 I traveled with Prabhupad as secretary, and I sent almost weekly newsletters, describing whatever Prabhupad was doing at the time, to Karandhar in LA, who would copy and include these descriptions in his regular BBT Newsletters, mailed out to all temples.
The old BBT Newsletters seem to have disappeared, even the Bhaktivedanta Archives do not have any copies.
So I am appealing to all devotees: If anyone has--or has a lead to--any BBT Newsletters from the period June 1971 through December 1972, will you kindly let me know? 
MATHURA: The National Green Tribunal has pulled up the Mathura district administration for not ensuring proper cleanliness on the Govardhan Parikrama Marg, causing hardships to pilgrims visiting the holy site.

And law and justice will be applied only on the basis of one’s power ... success in business will depend on deceit... A person’s propriety will be seriously questioned if he does not earn a good living. And one who is very clever at juggling words will be considered a learned scholar. A person will be judged unholy he does not have money, and hypocrisy will be accepted as virtue.” 
Leicester's Rathayatra is the second largest festival in the UK, and thousands of spectators came to participate in the festival.
Leicester's Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby, who started the procession said: "It is a beautiful visual and symbolic celebration which has become deeply woven into the fabric of our city."
At the park, revellers were entertained with a special Mahabharat themed festival--with dance, kirtan, archery, a Bhagavad Gita drama experience, and a children's world. Many people signed up for an introductory course on the spiritual principles of the Bhagavad-gita.
ISKCON Leicester has been on an exciting journey since their devastating explosion on Vyasa-puja four years ago. This year, the yatra will celebrate Janmasthami in the new temple, and neighbouring Town Hall Square. 
On the auspicious occasion on Sri Krsna Janmashtmi Festival, we are holding twenty days long Morning Street Sankirtana started from 27th July in the different locality of the city to invite everybody at their door step for coming Appearance day of Sri Krishna (Janmashtmi). Devotees were seen pulling chariot of Lord Jagannath, Baldeva and Subhadra. Devotees chant Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra and were dancing. Later in the end prashadam was distributed among the congregation devotees. 
“The chanting of Hare Krishna is recommended for persons who commit offenses, because if they continue chanting they will gradually chant offenselessly. Even if in the beginning one chants the Hare Krishna mantra with offenses, one will become free from such offenses by chanting again and again.” 
Ritualistic religious practices like yajna, charity, sacred baths and chanting of Vedic hymns are all regulated by rules of times, cleanliness, etc. To consider that the chanting of the holy name is subject to the same restrictions is a gross blunder. There are no hard and fast rules for chanting. Therefore, everyone chant Krishna's name at all times. 
The holy name of Lord Krishna is a reservoir of all transcendental happiness. It destroys the sins of the Kali-yuga. It is the most purifying of all purifying things. It is the saintly person's food as he traverses the path to the spiritual world. It is the pleasure garden where the voices of the greatest saints, philosophers, and poets play. It is the life of the righteous and the seed of the tree of religion. May that holy name of Lord Krishna bring transcendental auspiciousness to you all.—author unknown (Padyavali 3)

Vrajamandala temple where we stayed was beautiful. Secluded in the mountains, the atmosphere was serene. There were many beautiful moments I wanted to capture and share with you during my stay, but having no phone, I guess on this occasion, the memories were meant to be captured in my heart. Devotees of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) always openly encouraged me to be part of their events. They have always approached me with such sincerity and open hearts. This is what led me to sign up – I wanted to repay with the same open-heart, open mind and sincerity. 
Eger is the county seat of Heves, and the second largest city in Northern Hungary. “Chanting is the greatest act of piety and the supreme refuge. Even the words of the Vedas do not possess sufficient power to its magnitude. Chanting is the highest path to liberation, peace and eternal life. It is the pinnacle of devotion, the heart's joyous proclivity and attraction and the best form of remembrance of the Supreme Lord. The holy name has appeared solely for the benefit of the living entities as their Lord and master, their supreme worshipable object and their spiritual guide and mentor. 
Lord Krishna said to Arjuna, 'O Arjuna! Listen attentively. When the living entity chants My name, whether out of devotion or indifference, I never forget this act. It remains always close to My heart. There is now vow like chanting the holy name, no knowledge superior to It, no meditation which comes anywhere near it, and it gives the highest result. No penance is equal to it, and nothing is as potent or powerful as the holy name. 
Dharmatma das: All told over 30 devotees joined us on this years Tour. Lord Indra blessed us with near perfect weather and more and more conditioned souls received Lord Jagannatha and
Srila Prabhupada's mercy. We began with a small festival in Arhus, Denmark, then Copenhagen , Gotenberg, Oslow, Malmo, Stockholm and finished in the pouring rain in Allborg, Denmark. This was the 9th annual Tour organized by Parasuram prabhu. Though little in stature he is a giant in devotion to Lord Krishna and Srila Prabhupada. He drove the van, magically prepared sumptuous Prasadam from ingredients that manifested from who knows where. He is the architect and general. Organizing and guiding us all in this wonderful service. The Kirtans were blissful. Let by stalwarts, Maha Vishnu maharaja, Giridhari, Govinda, Sadbhuja, Nataraja, Chaitanya Chandra, Janardhana, Harinamananda, Parasuram, Hari dasi and other. We were all in ecstasy. Thousands of books were distributed by the brahmacaries from the Manor, Soho Temple and Copenhagen Yatra along with an equal amount of Krishna Prasadam. What I appreciated the most was the adherence to Srila Prabhupada's simple process of Harinama, book and Prasadam distribution. The camaraderie amongst the devotees was heart-warming. Maha Vishnu swami led us in morning programs and inspiring stories of Lord Jagannatha. Maharaja was ever blissful even in sometimes trying and difficult situations.
