He who yearns to attain the sweetness of pure love in Vrndavana, but by destiny is forced to live elsewhere, laments and always remembers Vrndavana, beautiful with splendid groves where Sri Sri Radhika-Krsna enjoy pastimes. He meditates on entering Vrndavana and thinks “Now I am serving the divine couple”.

Towards the Sun
→ Seed of Devotion

I write this flying over the Pacific Ocean suspended in a universe of stars. I just spent two months within the cocoon of my parent's home in Hawaii. I withdrew from the world to spend hours and days and weeks with myself. Those quiet days have been the silken threads of my cocoon, drawing me inward.

Now I am going back into the world, my wings emerging from the cocoon. I'm flying towards the sun.

Literally.

A devotee is like a pujari!
→ KKSBlog

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 19 January 2014, Durban, South Africa, Lecture)

noida_2014 (10)We should know that we are never alone – never, ever! We are always with Krsna therefore, every moment must be offered to him – every moment. That is what we have to practice and that is why we have temples because temples are designed for that purpose.

In the temple, Krsna is the centre and in the temple, we make offerings to Krsna. So we come to the temple to get a boost so that we can continue to do the same thing wherever we are – to always offer everything to Krsna.

Therefore, a devotee is like a pujari and he sees the whole world as an altar and everything is bhoga. He just takes bhoga, purifies it a little and then offers it to Krsna; simple as that! That is our business to just making offerings to Krsna, all the time. That is the goal of life and if you live a life like that, oh, how nice it will become!

Vedic knowledge is infallible, it is given by infallible God himself
→ The Spiritual Scientist

Vedic knowledge is infallible because it comes down through the perfect disciplic succession of spiritual masters, beginning with the Lord Himself. Since He spoke the first word of Vedic knowledge, the source of this knowledge is transcendental. The words spoken by the Lord are called apauruseya, which indicates that they are not delivered by any mundane person. A living being who lives in the mundane world has four defects: (1) he is certain to commit mistakes; (2) he is subject to illusion; (3) he has a propensity to cheat others; and (4) his senses are imperfect. No one with these four imperfections can deliver perfect knowledge. The Vedas are not produced by such an imperfect creature. Vedic knowledge was originally imparted by the Lord into the heart of Brahma, the first created living being, and Brahma in his turn disseminated this knowledge to his sons and disciples, who have handed it down through history.

Pecan Animals
→ TKG Academy

One beautiful day in January we went to Kalachandji’s Park conveniently located just out of our side gate with the purpose of filling each of our collection bags with pecans. Before hand we all made estimates as to how many pecans it would take. A few days later we counted each bag of pecans to see how close our estimates were to the actual number in our bags – real and hands on applications of our Math lessons and good practice counting. Some of us got more than 200 pecans!

Since then we have also made many funny pecan animals – - owls, caterpillars, spiders, and butterflies.

Sinhalese Outreach Breakthrough in Sri Lanka
→ ISKCON News

A revolutionary public program was organized in a Sinhalese area in a town near Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Just a few years ago, when the civil war between Sinhalese (Buddhist) and Tamils was raging, nobody could have imagined that a Hare Krishna program would be held in the heart of Buddhist culture in Kandy.

Indradyumna Swami: " By association with devotees, dirty things within the heart of a materialistic man are gradually washed away by the grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As silver becomes shiny by being polished, the heart of a materialistic person is cleansed of lusty desires by the good association of devotees."
