Grand Opening of Unique Cafe in Watford UK
→ Dandavats

By Parasuram dasa

For this project we got 100% support from the police, the Mayor, local politicians, local charities, local businesses, supermarkets, football clubs and one unique aspect of the project is we made solid friendships with some ministers from a Christian church and we are working together as a serious team. The cafe is beautiful, clean and friendly. So many people came for the opening ceremony that many couldn't get through the door. The Mayor loved the taste of so many different preps and remarked that only people who serve out of love can produce such food. Continue reading "Grand Opening of Unique Cafe in Watford UK

Potencies of Lord Sri Krishna
→ Dandavats

By Jaya Gaursundar Dasa

The Lord’s Potencies are inconceivable (acintya): That which cannot be thought of, understood, imagined or believed. While taking Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma to Mathura, and taking bath in the Yamunā, what Akrura saw in the water was four-armed Lord Vāsudeva. His complexion was dark blue like a fresh raincloud, He wore yellow garments and He lay on the lap of thousand-hooded Ananta Śeṣa. Lord Vāsudeva was receiving the prayers of perfected beings, celestial serpents and demons, and He was encircled by His personal attendants. Continue reading "Potencies of Lord Sri Krishna

I want Krsna
→ Dandavats

By Srimati Dasi

May the Supreme Lord who is known as the son of Srimati Saci-devi be transcendentally situated in the innermost chambers of your heart. Resplendent with the radiance of molten gold, He has appeared in the Age of Kali by His causeless mercy to bestow what no incarnation has ever offered before: the most sublime and radiant mellow of devotional service, the mellow of conjugal love. The Marriage of Heaven and Earth (In the Gaudiya Vaishnava Tradition)
→ Dandavats

By Matsya Avatara Das

Marriage is a samskara; one of the ten sacraments that serve to elevate a person's consciousness from the human level to the spiritual experience. Such elevation and transformation of consciousness is the purpose of human life. Samskaras trace and orient the path of a person in the world, from birth to death. Dhruva Maharaja
→ Dandavats

Dhruva Maharaja, by HH Niranjana Swami.
SB 4.9.11: Dhruva Maharaja continued: O unlimited Lord, kindly bless me so that I may associate with great devotees who engage in Your transcendental loving service constantly, as the waves of a river constantly flow. Such transcendental devotees are completely situated in an uncontaminated state of life. By the process of devotional service I shall surely be able to cross the nescient ocean of material existence, which is filled with the waves of blazing, firelike dangers. It will be very easy for me, for I am becoming mad to hear about Your transcendental qualities and pastimes, which are eternally existent.

Meditation and Chanting Go Together
→ Dandavats

Meditation and Chanting Go Together.
In the Gaudiya way of bhakti, you offer everything to Krsna, the good, the bad – your life. You share everything with someone you are close to, the barriers are low, close friends are intimate. In bhakti this is called mamata, a strong sense of ownership, or relation to the Lord, that “He is mine and I’m His”. This type of love can be attained by two types of devotional service, as it is stated by Narada Muni in Sri Brhad-bhagavatamrta: “One develops that love by practicing the devotional service whose main ways are meditation on and singing about the many Vraja pastimes of the Lord.” (3.5.218) A devotee who wants to reach Vrndavana focuses on these two aspects of bhakti: meditating on and singing about Vraja-lila.

“That other is Krishna”
→ Dandavats

“That other is Krishna”
Srila Prabhupada: From the very beginning, the body was given by father and mother. In the childhood, as the father and mother say, “Sit down here, eat this, don’t go there,” everything is controlled by the father and mother, and originally given by the father and mother. So how we can claim, “This is my body”? From the very beginning. Then, somebody else maintains you. Suppose you are working in an office, in a factory. So actually that body belongs to him, the maintainer. In this way, up to the point of death, and after death also, the body belongs to others.

May Mother Ganges Bless You Today
→ Dandavats

By Indradyumna Swami

Ever since becoming a devotee of Lord Krishna in 1970, I have been fascinated with the Kumbha Mela festival. This year I decided to join millions of other pilgrims in the journey to the Ardha Kumbha Mela where, from January 15th to March 4th, ISKCON devotees were to follow in Srila Prabhupada’s footsteps by bringing his books, the Holy Names and prasadam to the festival. Kumbha Mela is the largest religious gathering in the world. Estimates anticipated that 120 million pilgrims—nearly double the population of England and France combined—would visit the Mela over seven weeks. The Mela takes place four times within a twelve-year period on the banks of four of India’s most holy rivers: the Godavari River in Nashik, the Shipra River in Ujjain, the Ganges River in Haridwar and the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati Rivers in Prayagraj (formerly known as Prayaga ). George Harrison Remembers Srila Prabhupada
→ Dandavats

George Harrison Remembers Srila Prabhupada.
“I liked Prabhupada’s humbleness. I always liked his humility and his simplicity The servant of the servant of the servant is really what it is, you know. None of us are God—just His servants. He just made me feel so comfortable. I always felt very relaxed with him, and I felt more like a friend. I felt that he was a good friend. Even though he was at the time seventy-nine years old, working practically all through the night, day after day, with very little sleep, he still didn’t come through to me as though he was a very highly educated intellectual being, because he had a sort of childlike simplicity. Which is great, fantastic. Even though he was the greatest Sanskrit scholar and a saint, I appreciated the fact that he never made me feel uncomfortable. In fact, he always went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. I always thought of him as sort of a lovely friend, really, and now he’s still a lovely friend.”

Sell in bunches like bananas! (Album of photos)

Sell in bunches like bananas! (Album of photos)
Today we set up a new record(for the next few weeks) for Harinama Ashram, distributing 11 sets of 7 maha books per day! Sapta rsi, Srila Prabhupada ‘s Lilamrita and CC sets were taken by random people in the subway today. We started doing these sets from December Prabhupada’s Marathon and till now it became so successful like never before.
There is a third law of book distribution which says “The more you show the more you sell. The more you show the more you sell!” And from my own experience, I would say it works a lot! In my case, this law is only one thing which works.
It is truly unbelievable and I personally feel very fortunate to be the smallest part of this.
Remember I read in OFB how devotees would go out and try to distribute Krishna book, and how if they did at least one(!) they felt great ecstasy. What would Srila Prabhupada say right now seeing this extremely dedicated devotees to Krishna and to Him…If they can do it, this means that He is very much pleased and empowers us to do more and more every day.
Thank you dearest Srila Prabhupada for unlimited mercy and inspiration! All glories to You! All glories to Gurudeva!
May everyone gets inspired by these photos and go out on the streets to preach about Krishna!

Bhagavata-pradhana / Бхагавата-прадхана
→ Traveling Monk

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead is so kind to the conditioned souls that if they call upon Him by speaking His holy name, even unintentionally or unwillingly, the Lord is inclined to destroy innumerable sinful reactions in their hearts. Therefore, when a devotee who has taken shelter of the Lord’s lotus feet chants the holy name of Krsna with genuine love, the Lord can never give up the heart of such a devotee. One who has thus bound the Supreme Lord within his heart with the ropes of love is to be known as bhagavata-pradhana, the most exalted devotee of the Lord.”

Tractor-machine, means kill the Bulls
→ Dandavats

By Dusyanta dasa

One of the main problems with today's modernity is the usage of machinery. And why so many Bulls are slaughtered is because there is no work for them to do. If we can understand the nature of today's farming activities it is apparent that we all follow and support an industrialized farming model. This means we support the use of tractors, the diesel they need to be powered, and we support the use of pharmaceutical artificial fertilizers to grow all the food. Once we have become fully integrated into this agricultural model and system it means as Srila Prabhupada is so eloquently pointing out, …" Bulls have to be killed."
