(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 25 December 2013, Mayapur, India, Srimad Bhagavatam 5.9.3) The brahma-jyotir is known to be the effulgence of Krsna but if we read a little more about the brahma-jyotir then we read that it is filled with cit-kaṇaḥ. The cit-kaṇaḥ are the endless infinitesimal souls that are in there. So the whole brahma-jyotir […]

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, September 2013, Cape Town, South Africa, Srimad Bhagavatam 8.20.13) We see only the tip of the iceberg and never really know what is going on all levels. We cannot see and that is the whole problem. I may look at the person sitting opposite of me. I may know his name. I […]

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, September 2013, Cape Town, South Africa, Srimad Bhagavatam 8.20.12) We can come up with a hundred excuses to justify why we do not have to surrender. (Kadamba Kanana Swami, 29 September 2013, Melbourne, Australia, Srimad Bhagavatam 2.2.36) How can we always remain appreciative in association of devotees? Sometimes we lose it so how can we stay always in the correct mood? By thinking that we are not appreciating devotees enough and that we are always falling short in appreciation. As soon as we start […]

The most important person
→ KKSBlog

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 8 September 2013, Lenasia, South Africa, Sunday Feast Lecture) We have temples where we can associate of devotees and get new inspiration because after all, this is a movement. Srila Bhakisiddhanta said, “It’s not an addendum in life.” It is not that Krsna consciousness is something we add on. “You know, I really […]

The lazy mind!
→ KKSBlog

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, September 2008, South Africa, Ratha Yatra Lecture) We have to always be strict with our lazy mind because our mind says, “Well, you know, you can’t be fanatic!” which translates to, “Oh well, let’s just be lazy,” actually. So the tendency to be a little lazy about standards and rules is very […]

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, September 2013, Cape Town, South Africa, Srimad Bhagavatam 8.20.13) It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, ‘One who does good will never be overcome by evil.’ That is a very important point because it sometimes seems that one who does good gets overcome by evil. But it actually means is that if a person has done […]

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 17 November 2013, Mayapur, India, Rasapurnima, Srimad Bhagavatam 10.33.19) Question:  It is pretty clear to me, from studying Srila Prabhupada’s books, that the way we access Krsna lilas is – as sometimes Prabhupada would say in his purports – to give our lives to the mission. But, as the times goes on, […]

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 02 October 2013, Melbourne, Australia, Srimad Bhagavatam 2.3.2-7) Even though we do not look for austerity, we do not spend the whole day trying to avoid austerity. We must take some austerity – that is bhakti yoga and we use our time, as much as possible, in devotional service. Therefore this chapter […]

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 10 February 2013, Simhachalam, Germany, Srimad Bhagavatam 9.1.34) It is very interesting how Vrindavan is the abode which can offer pure devotional service. He said that Srimad Bhagavatam should be […]
