Wedding Ceremony, November 30, New Dwaraka, Los Angeles
Giriraj Swami
Bhakti Caru Swami, Svavasa dasa and Giriraj Swami spoke during the wedding ceremony of Sri Goloka dasa and Rupal.
“The demigods are praying, ‘Gayanti devah kila gitakani.’ Please allow us to take a human birth. That is why the human form of life is so special. It is a big responsibility. The purpose of a man and a woman getting married is to provide some deserving souls to get a human form so they can fulfill the purpose of their existence. That is why this ceremony is so sacred. Not that man and woman get together haphazardly and accidentally produce some children. It is a very systematic process called ‘samskar‘ which is a process of purification.”

Srila Prabhupada: One can be free from all sinful reactions after reaching a place of pilgrimage, but one can have the same benefit at home or at any other place simply by chanting the holy name of the Lord. (Srimad Bhagavatam 2.7.15)

A square named “Prabhupada Square” in Recife, Brazil!
Deena Bandhu Das: This is probably the only city in the whole world that has a Prabhupada Square! This is a city nearby Recife, Brazil called Caruaru! My dear Godbrother Jagat Vicitra, standing with me in the pic, worked for 5 years to get permission and received it in the Centennial Year! Now he’s working to get permission to put a plaque explaining who Srila Prabhupada is. I originally wanted to post this on the day that Srila Prabhupada arrived in America, but I was doing so much traveling at the time, I had no time.

When our workers dug deep to install a submersible pump, we were thrilled to discover sweet water 45 feet down. Apparently, this is the only sweet water within a three mile radius and this is the water that will fill Lilavati Kunda! We are taking this as a blessed sign from Radha and Krishna that They are pleased with our endeavor to clean and beautify Sakhi Kunda.

The chanting of the holy name is so auspicious that it can free everyone from the reactions of sinful activities. If by chance a devotee accidentally performs some sinful activity, the Lord will excuse him, but one should not intentionally perform sinful acts. (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 6.3.31 Purport)

Retaining Wall Construction Begins
- TOVP.org
During the last few weeks work on the retaining wall around the building on the utility floor was begun and is almost finished.
The wall, surrounded and packed in by a layer of thick concrete, will retain compressed soil onto the building foundation. The next step will be to start the Sandstone work. This work, very much like the brick work done in other parts of the building, will give rise to further walls and arched windows on this level of the building.

Becoming steady
→ KKSBlog
(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 30 March 2014, Cape Town, South Africa, Bhagavad-gita Lecture)
Question: How does one become steady in one’s Krsna consciousness?
By depending more and more on Krsna. In the beginning, we are not steady in our Krsna consciousness because we do not depend enough. We want to depend on ourselves. We think, ‘I want to be Krsna conscious and I am just going to make a mental adjustment in my mind – me, I – so that I can be Krsna conscious and I am just doing it now. I am Krsna conscious from now on. Actually I am quite Krsna conscious!’ No! The thing is that we have to depend on devotees, we have to depend on prasadam, on the temple, on the books. We have to depend on all the electronic stuff we can get about Krsna, we have to depend on the Deities’ mercy, and then we have to do something to score it. So, more and more we have become dependent, and over time more and more we are relying on that dependence. Total dependence on Krsna and in that way we become more and more steady – that is the secret.

Srila Prabhupada: “Haraye namah krsna yadavaya namah, gopala govinda rama sri-mudhusudana. This is another way of chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. The meaning is as follows: “I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna. He is the descendant of the Yadu family. Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto Gopala, Govinda, Rama and Sri Madhusudana.” (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila, 25.64 Purport)
