A square named “Prabhupada Square” in Recife, Brazil!
Deena Bandhu Das: This is probably the only city in the whole world that has a Prabhupada Square! This is a city nearby Recife, Brazil called Caruaru! My dear Godbrother Jagat Vicitra, standing with me in the pic, worked for 5 years to get permission and received it in the Centennial Year! Now he’s working to get permission to put a plaque explaining who Srila Prabhupada is. I originally wanted to post this on the day that Srila Prabhupada arrived in America, but I was doing so much traveling at the time, I had no time.

When our workers dug deep to install a submersible pump, we were thrilled to discover sweet water 45 feet down. Apparently, this is the only sweet water within a three mile radius and this is the water that will fill Lilavati Kunda! We are taking this as a blessed sign from Radha and Krishna that They are pleased with our endeavor to clean and beautify Sakhi Kunda.

Question: How does one become steady in one’s Krsna consciousness?

By depending more and more on Krsna. In the beginning, we are not steady in our Krsna consciousness because we do not depend enough. We want to depend on ourselves. We think, ‘I want to be Krsna conscious and I am just going to make a mental adjustment in my mind – me, I – so that I can be Krsna conscious and I am just doing it now. I am Krsna conscious from now on. Actually I am quite Krsna conscious!’  No! The thing is that we have to depend on devotees, we have to depend on prasadam, on the temple, on the books. We have to depend on all the electronic stuff we can get about Krsna, we have to depend on the Deities’ mercy, and then we have to do something to score it. So, more and more we have become dependent, and over time more and more we are relying on that dependence. Total dependence on Krsna and in that way we become more and more steady – that is the secret.
