The Governing Body Commission (GBC) of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness has recently increased its focus on succession; on the need to identify and develop new leaders. Pure devotees chant the Hare Krishna mantra, and simply by hearing this chanting from a purified transcendental person, one is purified of all sinful activities, no matter how lowborn or fallen one may be. (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Antya-lila, 3.126 Purport) Read more ›
Eleven select international students immersed themselves full-time in ISKCON’s first systematic kirtan course for nearly two months this summer, at Bhaktivedanta College in Radhadesh, Belgium. During this time they studied the theology behind kirtan, the proper mood and way to perform it, and its history and tradition, and took practical lessons in how to skillfully sing and play instruments to glorify the Lord.

The secret of surrendering to Krishna is that such surrendered devotee sees that everything is part of Krishna's plan. Whatever is meant to be I am doing. Let me do it with my full attention to every detail. Let me become absorbed in such service, never mind what it is. Let all other considerations be forgotten and only my desire to do the thing best for Krishna's alone pleasure is my motive. Letter to Jayapataka, December 19, 1972. Read more ›

Our centers are like the oasis in a vast desert. In the desert there is no water, but occasionally if one is fortunate he may come in contact with an oasis and he is saved. Similarly in this material world we are drying up due to a lack of spiritual knowledge. Our ISKCON centers are meant to give relief to the dried up conditioned souls who are searching after the nectar of joyful life. Letter to Bhagavan, December 18, 1970. Read more ›
The devotees pray for peace. "Haraye namah krsna yadavaya namah, gopala govinda rama sri-mudhusudana. This is another way of chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. The meaning is as follows: "I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna. He is the descendant of the Yadu family. Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto Gopala, Govinda, Rama and Sri Madhusudana."

Our dearest Ekadasi (previously named Emily) arrived in Gita Nagari in 2010. She was purchased along with Jalangi (Josie) from a neighboring farmer. She is a thorough bred Brown Swiss, very beautiful and healthy and gave good, delicious milk to Sri Sri Radha Damaodara for about two and a half years. She was gentle - occasionally, she would be a little feisty. But she was always curious, very observant of any new people around, any new occurrences on the farm. She was very intelligent and was all knowing:). Read more › HG Urmila Devi Dasi – SB 10.69.31-35 – 02.07.2014

Our relationship with Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is eternal. Nitya-siddha Krishna-prema. The pure souls are eternally in love with Krishna. Simply by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra one revives his original relationship with God and thus becomes so happy that he does not want anything material.
