Srimad Bhagavatam 4.30.34
"Even a moment's association with a pure devotee cannot be compared to being transferred to heavenly planets or even merging into the Brahman effulgence in complete liberation. For living entities who are destined to give up the body and die, association with pure devotees is the highest benediction".

500 years ago Lord Krishna came as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (or Lord Gauranga). He appeared as a devotee of Krishna (Himself) to reawaken all the conditioned souls by the method of harinama-sankirtana. He would go with His followers into the streets and chant the names of Krishna . Sankirtan brings darshan of Krishna , or attainment of divine consciousness, in this Kali yuga. Sankirtan develops love of God. Sankirtan is the easiest, surest, safest, quickest way to attain God consciousness. Those who do sankirtan in the beginning for the sake of mental enjoyment will realize the purifying effects of sankirtan after some time and then they will themselves do it with bhava (intense feeling) and shraddha (faith). There is a mysterious power in the name of the Lord Krishna. Man cannot live on bread alone, but he can live on the name of Lord Krishna.
The new rented place is spacious and beautifully renovated. But still not spacious enough to accomodate the crowd of five to ten thousand people that are expected to visit the Centre on Janmashtami. That is why, says temple president Sadhu-priya das, devotees are seeing this as a temporary place and are making continuous efforts to acquire a place of their own. But though the place is temporary, it will fulfill the spiritual needs of the Moscow devotee community.
The project of a "European Observatory on sects" and forging a "European consensus" on the issue of "sects" has failed
- The Recommendation did not obtain 2/3 of the votes (28 for, 18 against and 13 abstentions) and was not adopted. It aimed to:
1.1. conduct a study about the scale of the phenomenon of sects affecting minors at European level, on the basis of information provided by the member States;
1.2. set up a working group to exchange information between member States on excesses of sects affecting minors and to develop good practices for preventing the problem; and
1.3. seek to improve co-operation at European level with a view to implementing joint activities to prevent excesses of sects and protect minors against them.
A Grand Memorial Service for All the Vaisnavas to Celebrate Her Life will be Held on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Temple. A Poem in Tribute by Raga Devi Dasi
In our final days together,
I looked upon your face.
A slightly wrinkled but regal beauty,
Displaying all of the good Lord’s good grace.
Then Krsna came and took you to Him,
Guiding you gently all the while,
Co-creating a glorious leaving,
Which like your life was full of dignified style.
The Alachua Hare Krishna Temple, also known as New Raman Reti Dhama, provides a peaceful, spiritual shelter in a beautiful rural setting. Providing classes on Vedic scriptures, sacred kirtan chanting, spiritual festivals, sumptuous prasadam or blessed foods and the fellowship of like-minded people, one can be nurtured on their path to self realization.
Lord Chaitanya stressed that the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare is the easiest means of self-realization. Mantras were only chanted softly until Lord Chaitanya started harinam sankirtan, the loud public and congregational chanting of the maha-mantra accompanied by musical instruments. Srila Prabhupada brought harinam sankirtan to the streets of cities, towns and villages around the world.
Hare Krishna devotees, this day had harinam program in the temple and went to town, participated many enthusiastic devotees, is always a success harinam program for everyone in the city and visitors who arrive daily and they are enthusiastically involved with us, these are just some photographs, all glories to harinam sankirtan movement !!!!!
This is always a fun event for the whole family, which includes of course veg-friendly food from Kalachandji’s. The parade started at 10 am and went through the neighborhood, accompanied by hundreds of devotees as they sung, danced,& played musical instruments. The entertainment program followed at 12:30pm with: traditional dances, kirtan music, spiritual discourse, a childrens fair, henna tattoos & facepainting, contests & games, yoga, photobooths, art & cultural booths, food booths and more!
