Reflections on Independence Day

While I was leaving the Dallas/Fort Worth airport on July 4, a large American flag flying in the wind caught my eye, and I was surprised by how happy I felt. I reflected on how fortunate we were to live in a country where we have freedom of religion, and how Srila Prabhupada said, “America has been so good to me to give me money, men—everything. I have no designation that ‘this is my country,’ but because they have given me so much facility, I cannot forget my obligation to them. I want to make them happy and through them the whole world.”

Beautiful Marble Railings Being Installed in the TOVP

Please take a look at these elegant marble railings that will be placed on all three levels of the museum floors of the main temple room.

These wonderful railings, with exquisite peacock reliefs, are made of the highest quality marble and brought to us here directly from Makrana (Rajasthan), the only place in India where there is a deposit of such marble. The famous Taj Mahal in Agra was made from the same Makrana marble. The peculiarity of this marble is that it does not turn yellow and looks just as attractive for many, many years.

The installation of these fences has begun, and in the photos below you can appreciate their beauty.
