Both are senior Prabhupada disciples, who joined Iskcon in early 70’s. Garuda prabhu is an excellent cook and supported Maharaj Bhaktimarga Swami on his first walk across Canada in 1996. He was on his bicycle all through Maharaj’s walk.
Drupad prabhu joined KC while in fourth year of his degree in Urban planning at Ryerson Polytechnic. He went on preaching in Sudbury and guess who he bumped into, John Vis. A student in Arts college at Sudbury who will join KC and go on to take Sanyasa. We know that person as Bhaktimarga Swami today.

The chanting is a spiritual call for the Lord and His Energy to give protection to the conditioned soul.japa, when performed with focus and attention, can subdue the agitating effects of one’s mind and senses. The senses, of which the mind is also one, are constantly being stimulated by the external world – by gross and subtle matter.
If you have not chanted before, and would like to participate in this program, we will be very happy to show how you can do this.
All welcome. We’ll loan you a set of Beads!

Sunday Love Feast – January,10th 2016 – Vedic Discourse by His Grace Sankarshan Das Adhikari
→ ISKCON Brampton
About HG Sankarshan Das Adhikari : His Grace Sriman Sankarshan Das Adhikari appeared in this world in St. Louis, Missouri, USA on 7 November 1947, the tenth day (Dasami) of the most holy month of Kartik according to the Vaisnava calendar. He first met his spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in 1971 and was initiated by him on 12 August of the same year. Srila Prabhupada personally told this new young disciple that he was pleased with his sincerity and enthusiasm for spreading the Krishna consciousness movement. Sankarshan Das fully dedicated his life for serving the order of his spiritual master to become a guru and deliver the world. For the last 43 years he has uninterruptedly served his spiritual master’s movement, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), in various capacities.
In the year 2000, in recognition for his full dedication to Srila Prabhupada’s mission, ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission (GBC) gave him their blessings to initiate disciples. Since that time he has been regularly travelling and lecturing extensively all over the world for reviving the dormant Krishna consciousness in the hearts of all living beings. Well known for his Internet based training program, the Ultimate Self Realization Course, he has attracted over 17,000 subscribers from over 100 different countries who receive a daily inspirational message and personal answers to their questions regarding how to become perfect in Krishna consciousness.

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama R
Vedic Discourse by His Holiness Bhakti Marg Swami this Sunday – January 3rd,2016.
→ ISKCON Brampton
His Holiness Bhaktimarg Swami: Over forty years ago it was a youthful quest for life that lead Chatham, Ontario born Bhaktimarga Swami, (formerly John Peter Vis), to adopt an Eastern order of monastic life that landed him in the Hare Krishna movement. Since that time, as a celibate monk, Swami has evolved as an instructor of bhakti-yoga and mantra meditation. His presentation on this subject of life, based on the popular Hindu text, “Bhagavad-gita” is lively, candid and informative.
With a background in fine arts, Swami also developed a passion for the performing arts. Even in the course of his duties as a monk, he expands his portfolio and manages to take an active role in theatrical productions from epics of ancient Indian origin. Casting, scripting, and directing morality theater takes him annually to venues from North America to India and Africa.
Finally, Bhaktimarga Swami achieved a remarkable feat in 1996 when he went the way of a pilgrim and walked on foot cross country from west to east and then back for a return journey from Cape Spear, Newfoundland to Vancouver Island in 2003, going full circle. He likes to share of his unique experiences and fond memories on the road after trekking 16,000 kms. Swami is a consistent feature in “The Longest Road”, a recent National Film Board documentary detailing the history of the people who shaped or were shaped by the Trans Canada Highway, the world’s longest continuous maintained road.

“One who has life can preach, and one who preaches gets life.”(Previous Acaryas)
The Prabhupada Marathon is total bliss. Because this sankirtan movement is as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, “anandambudhi vardanam” it is an ever expanding ocean of bliss. It’s an opportunity to immerse ourselves in giving Krsna to others.Srila Prabhupada once said in a lecture that when some part of our body is injured all of our attention goes to that part.Similarly we are parts of Krsna and we are injured by material desires. This gives pain to Krsna therefore He tries to solve the problem by coming Himself, by leaving His instructions and by sending His pure devotees. When we go out on sankirtan we are giving pleasure to Krsna because we’re trying to relieve Him of the pain He experiences by seeing His parts and parcels suffer. So during this marathon let’s try to give pleasure to Krsna by giving this mercy in the form of Prabhupada’s books to as many conditioned souls as possible.

Join us this Sunday, 15th of November 2015 to celebrate disapperance day of Srila Prabhupada – Vedic Discourse by His Grace Gaura Das prabhu
→ ISKCON Brampton
Disapperance of Srila Prabhupada :
Although Srila Prabhupada is no longer physically with us, on the spiritual platform he is very much present. He is present in his deity form, in his books and through his instructions. His mercy is available to all those who seek it.
Srila Prabhupada departed from this world on November 14, 1977 in Vrindavan, India. One would not usually celebrate the disappearance day of a person, especially one so loved and revered as Srila Prabhupada. However, the departure of a pure Vaishnava gives cause for jubilation because he returns to his eternal service at Krishna’s lotus feet in Goloka Vrindavan, the spiritual world.
As Srila Prabhupada explains, the appearance and disappearance of the Lord and his pure representatives from this world is a cause for celebration. While there is no need to lament the disappearance of the Lord’s pure nitya-siddha representative, at the same time the devotees feel great pangs of separation due to the manifest physical absence of His Divine Grace.

Kartik (Damodar) Month is the best, the purest of purifiers, and most glorious of all months. Kartika month is particularly dear to Lord Sri Krishna. Any devotional service, even the smallest, performed in this month will yield immense results. The effect of performing Kartika Vrata lasts for one hundred lifetimes.
Kartika or the festival of offering lamps to Lord Krishna glorifying Lord Krishna’s pastime of being bound with ropes by Mother Yashoda.
“In Kartika month, after bathing in the morning, one should worship Lord Damodara. At night, one should light brilliant lamps filled with either ghee or sesame-seed oil, and place them in these places – in the Lord’s temple, around the base of tulasi plants, and in the sky. During the month of Kartika, one should eat only vegetarian foodstuffs and the Lords prasad remnants. There should be incessant harinama-kirtana and smarana. The sole activity to be done during the observance of Damodara-vrata is the worship of Sri Sri Radha-Damodara.” -Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur

Govardhana Puja:
The day after Diwali is referred to as Annakut, or Govardhana Puja. On this day the inhabitants of Vrindavan (Lord Krishna’s abode on Earth) traditionally held a harvest festival in honor of the demigod King Indra who provided the rains essential for the harvest. Lord Krishna by defeating Indra’s pride demonstrated that he is ‘Deva Deva’, Lord of the demigods, and that the purposes for which demigods might be worshiped could easily be served simply by worshiping Him, the cause of all causes.
This day is also significant as the day on which, several thousand years later, Srila Madhavendra Puri established a temple for the self-manifest Gopala Deity on top of Govardhana Hill.
To celebrate this festival, devotees build a replica of Govardhana Hill made of various opulent foods, worship Lord Krishna as the lifter of Govardhana Hill, worship the hill as His incarnation, and worship the cows and bulls which are dear to the Lord.
Dipavali:
To celebrate this event the residents of Ayodhya used lamps to illuminate the city, which in the Lord’s fourteen-year absence had come to resemble a city haunted by ghosts. When Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya the city’s residents regained their life and their distressed hearts lit up with joy. This light became manifest in the form of lighted lamps.
Offer ghee lamp to Lord with your family and friends.

During the month of Kartika, one should eat only vegetarian foodstuffs and the Lords prasad remnants. There should be incessant harinama-kirtana and smarana. Grand Celebration — Radhashtami — Sep 21st 2015 — 7:00pm to 9:30pm
→ ISKCON Brampton
About Radhastami (Fasting till Noon):
ISKCON Brampton is pleased to invite you, your family & your friends for the celebration of Radhastami. Radhastami is the celebration of the advent of Shrimati Radharani in this world who appeared over five thousand years ago. Lord Krishna is the male aspect of God, the energetic source of the supreme energy, and Shrimati Radharani is the female aspect, of the energy. So when Krishna descends, Shrimati Radharani also descends.
On this day in particular, we appreciate the mercy of Radha in order to get Krishna’s mercy. Radharani is simultaneously the personification of devotion, gratitude and topmost humility for Krishna, as well as the ideal example of what being a devotee means. The word “Radha” comes from the word aradhana (worship), and so Her name indicates that She possesses the topmost method of worship and devotion to Krishna. Devotees keep fast till noon on Radhastami.

Please join us to welcome His Holiness Bhakti Marg Swami this Sunday — August 16th,2015.
→ ISKCON Brampton
His Holiness Bhaktimarg Swami :
Over forty years ago it was a youthful quest for life that lead Chatham, Ontario born Bhaktimarga Swami, (formerly John Peter Vis), to adopt an Eastern order of monastic life that landed him in the Hare Krishna movement.
