Hare Krishna! In Honor of HG Brahmananda Prabhu
The GBC Executive Committee: The GBC Body, along with the larger community of ISKCON members, is deeply grateful for the legacy of service and beautiful memories of Srila Prabhupada Brahmananda Prabhu has bestowed upon us all. His departure was sudden, but most auspicious. He left this mortal world in the holiest of dhams, Sri Vrindavan, in the association of Vaisnavas. We pray that these auspicious circumstances, along with Brahmananda Prabhu’s deep desire to eternally serve Srila Prabhupada, now find him situated at the lotus feet of His Divine Grace.

This means we should have Vaishnava acara, join with the devotees and do Vaishnava activities (activities) and avoid all bad assosiation.

arthendriyārāma-sagoṣṭhy-atṛṣṇayā  tat-sammatānām aparigraheṇa ca vivikta-rucyā paritoṣa ātmani  vinā harer guṇa-pīyūṣa-pānāt

One has to make progress in spiritual life by not associating with persons who are simply interested in sense gratification and making money. Not only such persons, but one who associates with such persons should be avoided. One should mold his life in such a way that he cannot live in peace without drinking the nectar of the glorification of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari. One can be thus elevated by being disgusted with the taste for sense enjoyment.

ECO-Vrindaban Board Meeting Minutes 05/16/2015

Mission Statement: ECO-Vrindaban promotes Simple Living, Cow Protection, Engaging Oxen, Local Agriculture, and above all, Loving Krishna, as envisioned by Srila Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON New Vrindaban.

Participating Directors: Bhima, Chaitanya Mangala, Madhava Gosh, and Ranaka.

Participating Advisors: Sri Tulasi Manjari, Radha-Krishna (partial attendance)

Participating Managers: Mukunda

Recording Secretary: Jordanna

1. Review Staff Commitments/Work Loads

Currently, ECO-V is short-staffed. It was discussed that the Board should be careful not to overload any particular staff member and at times we may have to decline new projects to ensure this does not happen.

2. Mukunda’s Relocation

Mukunda reported that he plans to arrive in New Vrindaban by Monday 05/18/2015.

3. Garden and Ox Training Manager Search

Mukunda has taken the lead on this project and received a few applications already. He prepared some interview questions. The article regarding the search was posted this past week on the ISKCON News website.

4. Prabhupada House Renovation Update

Some more work is still needed on the house in order for it to be inhabitable.

WHEREAS: The ECO-V Board wishes to provide temporary housing for an ECO-V manager.

RESOLVED: The Board authorizes up to $12,500 towards the Prabhupada House renovations.

5. Sponsorship for Educational Courses

At this time, the ECO-V Board will only consider sponsoring people directly engaged by either ECO-V or INV.

6. Prabhupada’s Palace Rose Garden Consultant & Other Expenses

The original $15K allocated for this project has been spent. ISKCON New Vrindaban needs an additional $10K to complete the transition to an organic garden. Mukunda and Ranaka will speak to Gopa and this item will be re-addressed at the next ECO-V meeting.

7. ECO-V Brickyard Building Restoration

The dry storage bins have been installed and the old equipment has been removed. It still requires some painting and finish work.

8. ECO-V Logo, Brochure & Posters

The logo was completed November 2014. The brochure still requires a project leader. The “Prabhupada’s Vision: Our Mission” posters were recently posted at Radha Vrindaban Chandra’s temple. One is in the prasadam hall and another outside the entrance to the temple room. 350 small posters have been printed for distribution to pilgrims throughout the summer season. In the next six months, Chaitanya Mangala plans to design a poster specific to ECO-V’s mission.

This question put by Vidura to Maitreya Rsi. Vidura question was not mundane altough he ask about the living beings under different classifications, but because it also related with Krishna because He does all this thing.

tiryaṅ-mānuṣa-devānāṁ  sarīsṛpa-patattriṇām vada naḥ sarga-saṁvyūhaṁ  gārbha-sveda-dvijodbhidām

Also please describe the living beings under different classifications: subhumans, humans, those born of the embryo, those born of perspiration, those who are twice-born [birds], and the plants and vegetables. Kindly describe their generations and subdivisions also.

Everything about Krsna consciousness is special!
→ KKSBlog

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 26 April 2015, Radhadesh, Belgium, Vyasa Puja Morning Lecture, Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya Lila 24.124)

prabhupada-putting-on-tilakI was thinking if I should give any special message today. Should I maybe go through the Caitanya Caritamrta and select a special verse? But then I thought, “No! Every verse in the Caitanya Caritamrta is special so why would I select one as special, when every single verse is special?” Or to expand that principle, why highlight anything when everything about Krsna consciousness is special!? Then I realized that perhaps that should be my message – every aspect of Krsna consciousness is special and therefore every aspect of Krsna consciousness should be given special attention and special respect, as everything has a special importance.

It is no doubt that the chanting of Hare Krsna is especially important but hearing Srimad Bhagavatam is also especially important. Taking Krsna prasadam is especially important, as well as offering obeisances. Visiting Krsna’s temples is especially important, and when it comes to bowing down to the vaisnavas – one should pay special attention to it! Marking one’s body in twelve places with tilak is especially important. All these things are especially important!

When it comes to tilak, in the early days, I always used to put it during the day but in the night sometimes not. In India, because it is very hot, you take a shower at night and sometimes just crash and sleep. But now, I always put it, even before taking rest because it is very important.

We should know that every detail is important because it is all these small things together that actually offer us strength. It is all these seemingly trivial things – whether you put the tilak, and whether you put it in all twelve places or just on your face. But by that, we are actually invoking the presence of the Lord. As we are placing the tilak and chanting the various mantras, the various deities of the Lord are present so the blessings are there. And collecting blessings is a theme I want all of us to focus on.

Some of our Brisbane devotees live in the Logan Shire area. Recently they organised a Rathayatra parade as part of the Logan Multicultural Festival.

The Ratha cart made it’s way through the market area where everyone was buying vegetables and fruits.
Needless to say they were pleasantly surprised to see Lord Jagannatha and His devotees chanting, dancing and waving at everyone around the stalls.

Boston City Council Hears the Mahamantra
→ ISKCON News

Greater Boston is home to one of the United States' largest populations of Nepalese. At the same time, ISKCON Boston is a spiritual home to a small but growing number of devout members of that ethnic community. While attendees at the Boston City Council meeting stood, listening attentively, Parama Rupa offered a succinct yet powerful invocation that touched upon tragedy, renewal, the interconnectedness of humanity, and Srila Prabhupada's compassion.

Samadhi, A Kirtan Band of Seven – IndieGoGo

In a dimly lit room, a sweet jazzy chord rings off the strings of a guitar, quickly progressing into a swaying rhythm. A drum pulses in followed by a familiar and warm harmonium. Anchoring both rhythm and melody, an electric bass booms and then a deep, soulful voice starts the invocation, “Nama Om Vishnu Padaya.” In this way, Samadhi ignites another evening of electrifying kirtan. What Kind of a Lover Are You?
→ ISKCON News

People are hungry to fill the hole in their hearts. Honest individuals will recognise they are dying for want of real love. We want others to see our sacrfice, we crave to be appreciated, we desire others to make us feel wanted and hope that others will be concerned for our happiness.

Srila Prabhupada’s Brahmananda Dasa
Giriraj Swami

SJI-Swamiji-Book-01Upon awaking this morning, my heart was flooded with emotion in appreciation of Srila Prabhupada and his divine gifts to us, and I knew it was Brahmananda Prabhu’s mercy. Any association with Brahmananda Prabhu—whether by vani or vapuh—had that effect: it enhanced my loving feelings for Srila Prabhupada.

While hearing Sri Caitanya-bhagavata this morning, I was struck by a verse that seemed to perfectly describe Brahmananda Prabhu. “Visnu and the Vaisnavas are equal, but atheists and blasphemers think otherwise. One who worships the lotus feet of Krsna without discriminating . . . is delivered.” Brahmananda Prabhu had the firm conviction that the worship and service of Srila Prabhupada was equal to—if not more pleasing than—that of the Supreme Lord. And he was surely delivered by Srila Prabhupada’s grace.

Then I heard a prayer, offered to Lord Caitanya, that seemed to reflect Brahmananda Prabhu’s mood in relation to Srila Prabhupada—and the mood for which I aspire. “Birth after birth, You are our father, mother, son, and master. May we never forget Your lotus feet. O Lord, it does not matter where we take birth, but may we always have loving devotion for Your lotus feet.”

To mitigate my feelings of separation from Brahmananda Prabhu and to share remembrances and realizations about him, I will join the memorial program for him in New Dvaraka, Los Angeles, tomorrow, Saturday, from 3 to 7:30 p.m.—and then honor the feast in his memory.

Brahmananda Prabhu, please think kindly upon us and keep us close to your lotus feet, that we may engage in everlasting service to our eternal lord and master in the association of all his beloved servants.
