The Hague is the seat of government in the Netherlands, and the capital city of the province of South Holland. “Of the nine processes of devotional service, the most important is to always chant the holy name of the Lord. If one does so, avoiding the ten kinds of offenses, one very easily obtains the most valuable love of Godhead.” CC Antya 4.71 Read more ›

My dear Radha Damodara,

Please accept my blessings. I thank you very much for your letter dated August 25, 1972, and I appreciate very much for your kind sentiments. Yes, the Bhagavata Dharma discourses here in New Vrindaban are going on very nicely and daily several hundred devotees and guests are coming to hear, and it is truly a wonderful time.

I am glad to hear the nice report about St. Louis temple, and also that you are training yourself up nicely to be a serious preacher of this Krishna Consciousness movement. That much is wanted, sincere men who will become very strong for preaching work throughout the world, on behalf of Krishna. Now you apply yourself to this task very seriously and become learned in all the aspects of our Krishna Consciousness philosophy and take this opportunity in this lifetime to go back to Home, back to Godhead. That is my request.

I have not yet seen the Devotee Sketch-book #2, but I shall see it when I again return to Los Angeles.

Hoping this will meet you in good health.

Your ever well-wisher,

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Worshipping Giriraja

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 18 April 2014, Durban, South Africa, Lecture: The glories of the holy name)

Ljubljana II - 01/06/2013Krsna’s beauty is stunning! It is said that those devotees who look at Krsna, they gradually become stunned! I am worshipping Krsna in the form of Giriraja Govardhan. It is said that Govardhan Hill is non-different from Krsna. Somehow or other, my Giriraja is really nice, extremely nice. He really is very beautiful! Look on the internet if you want to see Him.

Srila Prabhupada said that if we worship the deity of Krsna then we must try to decorate that deity very nicely and if you do so, then you will lose all your taste for worldly beauty. So I am trying to do so and I must say that indeed there is a lot of taste! Such kind of taste is the awakening of spontaneous service.

Epic Hare Krishna Chant in Washington Square Park (2 min video)

Sri-KRSNA nama is the sweetest among all things that are sweet, and it stands supreme amongst all that is auspicious. It is the eternal, fully ripened spiritual fruit of the wishfulfilling tree of the Vedas. O best of the Brighus, if anyone even once offenselessly chants Sri-KRSNA nama, either with faith or indifference, Sri-KRSNA nama immediately delivers that person from the ocean of material existence. “I do not know how much nectar the two syllables ‘Krish-na’ have produced. When the holy name of Krishna is chanted, it appears to dance within the mouth. We then desire many, many mouths. When that name enters the holes of the ears, we desire many millions of ears. And when the holy name dances in the courtyard of the heart, it conquers the activities of the mind, and therefore all the senses become inert.” Vidagdha Madhava quoted in CC Antya 1.99 Read more ›

Indradyumna Swami: After traveling 4 days and 2,500 kilometers we finally arrived yesterday in Arkaim, a remote archaeological site situated in the southern Urals steppe of Russia. Discovered in 1987 by a team of Russian scientists the dwellings are described as an ancient capitol of the Aryan, or Vedic culture. Dubbed the “Swastika City” because of the floor plan of the site, it has become a pilgrimage center for many Russian people. Every June, on the day of the summer solstice, a large 2- day festival attracts thousands of spiritually inclined people. ISKCON devotees have been attending the event for years. Their “Krsna Village” with a kirtan stage and many attractive booths is a big attraction. To inaugurate our village this year myself and Bada Hari prabhu went on harinam with 700 devotees in the evening. At 9 pm the sun was still high in the sky! Read more ›

Krishna Lunch For Ever! (5 min video)
→ Dandavats.com

The Krishna Lunch Forever campaign is collaborating with the UF Foundation to help raise money for the renovations on the Plaza of the Americas, which will include new seating areas and tables. The Krishna campaign has already raised about $45,000, said Bob Cohen, the campaign’s director. “Most of the money will be spent on infrastructure underneath, so groundwater will drain and grass and trees will grow to be greener,” Cohen said. UF senior philanthropic adviser Carter Boydstun estimates plaza renovations to cost about $1.6 million. The UF Foundation has $300,000 in commitments from alumni toward funding the upgrades.
